The Migori County Department of Health Services, in collaboration with Kmet Kenya, today convened a dissemination meeting to share the findings of the SAFIRE Project Endline Evaluation Study.
The SAFIRE Project is an adolescent-focused health initiative aimed at strengthening access to Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) information and services, including Post-Abortion Care (PAC), particularly for adolescents and young people aged 10 - 24 years. The project has also enhanced community-based service delivery through pharmacies, clinics, and integration with public health systems, while leveraging digital innovations such as the KMET Digital Management Information System (DMIS) to support referrals, client tracking, quality assurance, and reporting aligned with the Kenya Health Information System (KHIS).
The dissemination forum provided an opportunity to review key achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations from the project implementation period, while informing future programming and policy decisions aimed at improving the health and well-being of adolescents and young people in Migori County.
The meeting was graced by the Chief Officer for Public Health and Sanitation, Ms. Marble Chanzu, Director of Public Health and Sanitation, CJ Ayungo, Deputy Director for Public Health and Sanitation Tom Odhongโ, County Adolescent and Youth Health Coordinator Fredrick Ochieng', invited healthcare workers, representatives from KMET Kenya and other stakeholders.
The County Government of Migori remains committed to strengthening partnerships and evidence-based interventions that advance adolescent and youth health outcomes across the county.
