Nairobi continues to set the pace as the AfriSummit team met last week with the Medical Technology Industry Association Of Kenya (MEDAK), the representative body for international medical technology manufacturers in Kenya.

A major outcome of the meeting was the formal signing of MEDAK as an official Association Partner for AfriSummit 2026, strengthening our collaboration as the summit comes to Nairobi for its 6th edition.

Big moves in Nairobi!

Wrapping up another strategic session with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB), Kenya, the momentum for AfriSummit 2026 is officially shifting gears.

Following our initial meeting in February, we went deeper this time. We tapped into the PPB’s expert insights to sharpen the pulse of our Pharma and MedDevReg tracks.

At AfriSummit 2025, we spoke with Dr. Rawya Kredly of Julphar who spoke on the depth and relevance of presentations, particularly around harmonization, reliance models, and the growing strength of Africa as a unified regulatory environment.

As part of the “Made in Africa” session and a panel on public-private partnerships, Dr. Rawya contributed insights on pharmaceutical localization and strengthening local manufacturing capacity.
