Today, KEHPCA conducted a supportive visit at PCEA Kikuyu Mission Hospital engaging with the facility’s palliative care team to reflect on the progress, experiences, and opportunities for strengthening palliative care services.

We had a fruitful and insightful discussion with Ms. Laureen Kambo, Palliative Care Nurse in Charge, and Mr. Peter, Director of Nursing Services and Outreaches, on the current state of palliative care in the facility, the challenges faced, and opportunities for partnership, collaboration, and continued engagement.

These conversations are an important part of strengthening palliative care systems, learning from healthcare providers, identifying gaps, celebrating progress, and working together to find practical solutions that put patients and families at the centre of care.

Together, we learn, connect, and strengthen palliative care. đź’™

Growing palliative care for enhanced quality of care is at the heart of KEHPCA’s mission. 💙

Today, KEHPCA conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at OakWood Hospital, in Kikuyu, Kiambu County aimed at strengthening healthcare workers’ capacity to provide quality, patient-centred palliative care services.

The session brought together healthcare professionals from different departments within the facility, focusing on enhancing their knowledge and skills in integrating palliative care into everyday clinical practice.

We were warmly received by the hospital directors, Dr. Josephine and Mr. Boniface Maina, and we appreciate their commitment to strengthening palliative care.

As we continue to create awareness, build the capacity of healthcare workers, and foster partnerships, we remain committed to ensuring that more patients and families have access to compassionate, holistic, and quality

Together, we have a responsibility to grow quality care for all as is everyone’s business. 💙
