Pathcare Medical Laboratory Kenya's First Internationally Accredited Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. PathCare Kenya was founded by Dr. Kiran Radia in November 2002.

It was the first Internationally Accredited Kenyan owned Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in East and Central Africa. It is a professional laboratory, which provides services to clinicians and their patients in collaboration with PathCare South Africa, one of the leading pathology groups. Multiple myeloma accounts for approximately 10–15% of haematological malignancies, with Black populations disproportionately affected. This underscores the need for stronger diagnostic capacity, greater awareness and more accessible specialised testing.

The strength of an organization is shaped not only by its systems and achievements, but by the leaders who build its culture, develop its people and advance its purpose.

Last Friday at Ibis Styles, the PathCare Kenya community gathered to honor Dr. Jane Mwangi and recognize her remarkable contribution to our organization and the broader healthcare journey we continue to pursue.

Her farewell dinner was more than a celebration of years served. It was an opportunity to reflect on the professional relationships she built, the people she influenced and the lasting value of leadership grounded in service, excellence and commitment.

Among her defining contributions was leading PathCare Kenya to achieve international accreditation, becoming the first medical laboratory in East and Central Africa to attain this distinction. This historic achievement elevated our quality standards and reinforced our commitment to delivering internationally recognized diagnostic services.

As Dr. Jane begins a new chapter, we remain grateful for the role she has played in PathCare Kenya’s story. Her legacy will continue through the people, standards and shared purpose she helped strengthen.
