The year was 2020, and my son was barely 2 months old. I had gained a ton of weight in that short period, and I used to get really frustrated with my clothes because they couldn’t fit anymore, and I couldn’t understand why at that point. But now I realize I had forgotten I existed, and all my focus was on the baby. I was too focused on having enough milk for the baby, so I ate as advised. My routine was to eat, sit, breastfeed, sleep when I got a chance, and repeat, day in and day out. What that did to my body, you can all see.
I have really tried to avoid a repeat of the same this time around, and as much as I have gained some weight, at least my old clothes still fit, and I am so proud of myself! The key point is: don’t overeat unnecessarily for milk if you are breastfeeding. Eat just enough, drink more eat for one and drink for two. Breastfeed as much as possible; breast milk is produced based on demand and supply. Also, move your body and do some chores here and there it really helps. And oh! Even after eating that much then, I still fed my baby formula, but this time I was able to exclusively breastfeed my baby for six whole months. So eating a lot will not help with your milk supply it will only make you fat! Facts!!
