We have our latest and final poll results from Ol Kalau.

Sammy Kamau of DCP leads with 64.5%, followed by Samuel Muchina of UDA at 20.5%

The survey further found that 6.8% of the voters are yet to decide on whom to elect in next week's by-election

Our sample size was 614, and data collected between 2nd and 4th July 2026 through CAPI

Key highlights:

1. Sammy Kamau of DCP in a comfortable lead in Karau Ward, with a popularity of slightly above 80%

2. Though Sammy Kabua of DCP is ahead in all other wards, the gap is significantly small in Kaimbaga Ward

1. Sammy Waweru of DCP leads by 59% in our 1st round of Ol Kalau By Election Opinion Poll

2. Samuel Muchina of UDA comes 2nd with 24.3%, Kigwa Wilson of Jubilee ranks 3rd in our poll at 7.4%

3. Nearly 8% of the voters remain undecided as of the time of our data collection

Data collection was done between 27 and 30 May 2026, using CAPI and a sample of 498 registered voters in Ol Kalau Constituency, with a 4.3% error of margin

1. It is the only country in Africa that doesn't have a VAT Tax, or a Sales Tax

2. The country also has no excise or property taxes, and mainly relies on oil for revenues

3. It doesn't have the traditional customs duties, though it does impose a 5% service fee on most imports

4. Customs duties were abolished in 2005, apart from To***co and To***co Products

5. It has the lowest personal income tax in Africa at 10% for the marginal top tier (and 5% for first tier)

For instance, some earning 500 USD per Month in Libya pays an income tax of roughly 38 USD

In Kenya 🇰🇪, the same 500 USD Monthly Salary would attract a personal income tax of 75 USD

Or Nigeria 🇳🇬, the same 500 USD would attract a personal income tax of 74 USD
