AMEN KENYA In Kenya, it was launched on October 10, 2020. From this meeting, a committee was formed with the mandate of uniting Adventist medics for this higher calling.

AMEN (Adventist Medical Evangelism Network) Kenya is an organization whose aim is to inspire, train and equip Adventist medics to share Christ in their marketplace. Our guiding principle is: “If you are a Christian and a competen

t physician, you are qualified to do tenfold more good as a missionary for God than if you were to go forth merely as a preacher of the word.” (Counsels on Health, Pg. 503.3)

AMEN is an international ministry that began in the United States in 2004. The foundation was laid by a convocation of Adventist medics from various institutions at the University of Nairobi Medical School on July 20, 2019, under the theme “From Medical Practice to Medical Ministry.” The goal was to encourage medics to take an active role in medical ministry. The committee established the group Adventist Medics and began coordinating activities. During this process, we learned about AMEN and reached out to them. They allowed us to operate as the AMEN Chapter in Kenya. We conducted online webinars during the COVID-19 pandemic and officially launched the ministry with the attendance of Union leaders, AMEN US leaders, and the ECD Health Director

The liver is one of the body’s most vital organs. It works quietly every day to:

· Remove toxins from the body
· Aid in digestion
· Store nutrients and energy
· Support overall body balance

Yet many people develop liver problems without realizing it. Conditions such as hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis are becoming increasingly common.

⚠️ Common causes of liver damage:

· Unhealthy diet (excess fat, sugar, and processed foods)
· Alcohol and drug abuse
· Infections like hepatitis
· Overuse of certain medications

💚 How to protect your liver:

· Eat a balanced, natural diet (fruits, vegetables, whole foods)

*What is Hemophilia??* 🩺🩺

*Hemophilia*- is a rare inherited bleeding disorder caused by deficiencies in specific blood clotting factors. The two main types are:
• *Hemophilia A* (classic hemophilia): deficiency or dysfunction of clotting factor VIII (FVIII).
• *Hemophilia B* (Christmas disease): deficiency or dysfunction of clotting factor IX (FIX).

*Common Symptoms*
🔸Prolonged bleeding after injury or surgery
🔸Spontaneous bleeding into joints or muscles (causing pain and swelling)
🔸Easy bruising
🔸In severe cases, bleeding into the brain or other organs.

*Prevention*
✅Carrier detection in females.

✅Confirmed by genetic testing for the known familial F8/F9 variant.
✅Prenatal diagnosis e.g
Chorionic villus sampling
