Assure them. Repeat it. Remind them.

When persons with disabilities are given opportunities, they do not ask for sympathy they demonstrate ability, talent, leadership, and impact.

Today, a young voice courageously spoke truth to leadership. The question is not whether persons with disabilities can contribute; the question is whether leaders are listening and turning policies into action.

Leaders should follow . must move beyond promises to meaningful implementation.

Disability is not inability. Give the opportunity, remove the barriers, and watch potential thrive.

Kenyatta University students caught a thief who had been stealing their clothes. They tried to mediate but couldn’t reach a resolution, so they referred the matter to the “fire tribunal” which found him guilty and sentenced him to ashes!

At the People Dialogue Festival, dialogue belongs to everyone. 💬🤟🏾

As we take to the county level, we remain committed to creating an inclusive space where every voice can be heard and every participant can engage meaningfully. This is why we are inviting qualified Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) Interpreters to join us in making the Festival accessible for all.

Selected interpreters will provide sign language interpretation support during Festival sessions and will work in pairs (two interpreters per assignment) to ensure quality interpretation, smooth coordination, and adequate breaks throughout the programme.

One of the most fulfilling moments in my work at the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) has been witnessing the impact of providing tools of trade, education support, and grants to Persons with Disabilities across Kenya.

Over the years, we have supported skilled beneficiaries with welding machines, carpentry tools, tailoring equipment, farming tools, cobbler kits, car wash machines, salon equipment, and many other business start-up tools based on their chosen livelihoods.

Many are now successful entrepreneurs and self-reliant members of their communities. We have also supported schools through grants and funded disability-focused projects across all 47 counties.

True empowerment is not only about policies and inclusion; it is also about creating opportunities for people to earn a living with dignity.
