*Mpox (monkeypox) is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus.*

*Signs and symptoms*
-Painful rash
-Enlarged lymph nodes
-Fever

*How is Monkeypox spread?*
It spreads from contact with infected persons through;
-touch
-kissing
-s*x
-contact with infected animals, when hunting, skinning, or cooking
materials
contaminated bedding, linen or clothes
-sharps e.g. needles
-pregnant mother to unborn child

*Prevention*
1) Inform anyone you have been close to recently
2)Stay at home until all scabs fall off and a new layer of skin forms
3)Cover lesions and wear a well-fitting mask when around other people
4)Avoid physical contact

*Most people fully recover, but some get very sick.*
