You just want to make it better, so you reach for the creams, washes and products marketed for sensitive little bodies — trusting that what’s on the shelf is safe and gentle.

That was exactly the struggle my latest guest, Joey Richards, experienced with her own baby.

But that struggle led her to start looking more closely at what was actually inside some of the mass-produced products we use on our children every single day.

And that’s when her motherly instinct kicked in. 🤍

She wanted something simpler. Gentler. Something she could feel good about using on her own children.

And from that, Squishy was born — a Kenyan children’s personal-care brand created from one mum’s determination to find a better option for her babies. 🇰🇪

This was easily the toughest episode I’ve recorded so far.

I went into places I don’t normally talk about. I allowed myself to be vulnerable, emotional and completely open about my experience with cancer.

It was hard to share… but I also felt like it was needed.

Because cancer is not a joke. The fear is real. The decisions are hard. The journey can change everything.

And if sharing my experience, my lessons and what helped me through it can help even one person feel less alone, ask more questions, find hope or take an active role in their own healing journey, then being this vulnerable was worth it. 🤍
