GIVE TO GAIN
🌿 A powerful moment from our International Women’s Day event on Sunday!

We had the honor of hosting Kilimani Wellness Gallery and their presentation on AI and health was truly eye-opening. Imagine technology that can help identify everyday health concerns, chronic conditions, and even highlight potential risks before symptoms appear.

I was so intrigued that I immediately booked my own appointment. What’s reassuring is that qualified medical doctors are on site to guide you and explain your results.
It’s exciting to see medical professionals combining modern technology with natural, holistic approaches to wellness.

✨ The best part? They are currently offering a special discount.

If you’ve been thinking about taking a more proactive step toward your health, this is a great opportunity. Book your appointment and take advantage of the offer while it lasts!

......"That day I had decided to try a new route." He got back before her. She called to say she was lost and sent him a pin. He asked if she wanted him to come fetch her. She said she'd call when she found the main road. The next call was from her son. Papa is on the floor. She went to the video immediately. He was lying on his belly. "I could hear him groan." A neighbour was called, and he was rushed to hospital. "When I got there, he was dead. He was just lying there, like he was sleeping." He was the fittest person she knew. Healthy as a horse. She was devastated.

"I knew I was in trouble that evening, on the phone with his cousin. He asked me, could it be something he ate? I told him he had been holding an avocado. Then a pastor friend of the family got on the line. 'Do you think the avocado was poisoned?' That's when I knew. If someone is already thinking the avocado was poisoned, trouble is coming." She pauses. "By the next day, trouble had arrived."

Grief, it turns out, does not pause the administrative requirements of death. There were forms. Queues to stand in. The world does not lower its voice just because yours has gone quiet. Nothing happens in government facilities over the weekend. She went back on Monday, was told an autopsy was required, paid, was put on a waiting list, and was assigned for Wednesday. Between his death on Saturday and the autopsy on Wednesday, not one of his relatives had shown up. ā€œFive days. Nobody.ā€

šŸ’› Let’s pause for a moment and give gratitude.
Because while you were navigating stress…
While you sought comfort in food, sugary drinks, or alcohol…
While you slept too little—or too much…
While energy to take that shower or go for that walk felt impossible…
While you reached for quick fixes instead of addressing the root cause of that headache…
Your body held space for you.

Those layers of fat weren’t your enemy, they were your body’s way of protecting you, a reflection of its intelligence, doing its best under the circumstances.
As you take steps to reduce excess fat, inflammation, or stress, be gentle with yourself. Your body is working for you, even when it feels like it’s working against you.

Looking back at this photo, I hardly recognize that version of me,but I am so grateful. Grateful for the journey, and for learning to love myself back to me. šŸ’›

Our story starts in 2014 when my first born was a toddler.
Shishi turned a personal health challenge into a sustainability-driven beauty brand rooted in ethical sourcing and community empowerment.

Her journey began in her kitchen while searching for a natural solution for her son’s eczema after growing frustrated with prescription steroid creams. Using nut oils sustainably sourced from Ugandan farmers, she hand-blended her first formulations and within weeks saw remarkable improvement.

Unemployed at the time, she began recycling jars to package her products, embedding circular practices into the brand from the start. What began as a homemade remedy soon evolved into a registered business supplying clean, plant-based skincare and hair oils.

Today, she partners directly with African growers, supports smallholder farmers, formulates and consults for emerging beauty brands, and mentors women entrepreneurs. Through Shishi Naturals, she champions green beauty that prioritizes holistic wellness, ethical supply chains, and collaborative growth.

✨ On Health and Wholeness ✨ It doesn’t matter how much success you gather, how many milestones you tick off, or how impressive your achievements look on paper—if your body and spirit are not healthy, it all loses its shine. What is the point of climbing the mountain of success if, at the top, you are too tired, too sick, or too broken to enjoy the view?Health is not just about the absence of disease. It’s about alignment. It’s about choosing daily, intentional practices that keep you well in body, mind, and soul. For me, health starts with what I put on my plate. I choose raw foods for the most part because I believe in nourishing my body with life-giving foods that carry natural energy. But food is only one piece of the puzzle. What you consume with your eyes and ears matters just as much. The books you read, the shows you watch, the conversations you engage in—all of it becomes part of your inner diet.Health is also about energy. The energy you give out into the world, and the energy you invite into your environment. Is your workplace nourishing you, or draining you? Does the home you live in bring you peace, or is it filled with chaos? Who do you follow online? Who do you allow to influence your mood and thoughts? You cannot spend your day trolling people, feeding on gossip, or following drama-filled pages and then expect to carry a healthy spirit. And let’s not forget the physical body. If your knees ache every day, if your skin is inflamed with acne or eczema, if your sleep is restless or your breath is shallow, these are messages from your body. They are not inconveniences to ignore; they are alarms ringing to remind you that something is out of balance.Every choice you make leads you either toward health or away from it. The food you eat, the thoughts you entertain, the people you surround yourself with, the content you consume, the way you move your body, the words you speak—all of it counts. So let your choices count for you. Choose foods that nourish. Choose words that heal. Choose environments that uplift. Choose energy that restores. Because in the end, true wealth is health—and it is the only success that makes all the other successes worth celebrating.🌸 Today’s Wellness Affirmation 🌸Today, I choose health. I choose peace. I choose life. My body is my home, and I honor it with love and care. My spirit is my compass, and I protect its joy. I walk through this day whole, balanced, and aligned.

For 35 days we’ve been eating fruit.
By we, I mean my 4 kids and I. We’re doing this for healthy reasons and mummy wanted to finally become a size 10.
Will she achieve her goal? Let’s how she fares in the next 9 days before we check that out.
So far I’m down 12 kilos, my waist is down 5 inches.
I don’t care much about the weight anymore, I want to lose 8 more inches. Follow me for more updates.

My Weekly Fruit Ritual šŸŽšŸŠšŸ

One of the rhythms that grounds me each week is fruit shopping. There’s something deeply satisfying about filling a basket with colour, freshness, and life. Every fruit feels like a small blessing from the earth—a reminder that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as reaching for something sweet and natural. 🌱✨

In our home, fruit is more than just a ā€œsnack.ā€ It’s every meal. Some days, orange becomes the appetizer that wakes up our taste buds. Other days, apple takes centre stage as the main event. And often, avocado or bananas close the day with a sweet, refreshing finish. I give the kids the joy of choosing which fruit belongs where, and it’s always amazing to see how creative and playful they get. šŸ‰šŸŒšŸ„

This little ritual has become more than a weekly habit—it’s a practice of mindfulness and nourishment. It reminds me that what we eat has the power to heal, energize, and even bring us closer as a family. Food isn’t just fuel; it’s memory, joy, and connection.

So here’s to a week filled with fresh choices, vibrant colours, and the gentle sweetness that nature offers us. May your body feel nourished, your mind feel clear, and your spirit feel refreshed—just like a bowl of ripe fruit on a sunny morning. šŸ’›

When Healing Meets Courage: My Journey to Authorship

🌿✨ The journey inward is often mirrored by the one outward. And somewhere along the road—between healing, homeschooling, and holding space for others—I found myself becoming. Becoming braver. Becoming softer. Becoming a Published Author. šŸ“–šŸ’«

DO IT AFRAID is more than a book. It’s a collective testimony. A sacred offering from women who chose to rise—even when fear whispered loudest. When I submitted my abstract, I didn’t know what would unfold. But the pages now carry my truth—and the truths of women who dared to bloom in uncertainty.

šŸ’« I invite you to our Book Launch Celebration:
šŸ—“ 30th August
šŸ“ Trademark Hotel, Village Market – Nairobi, Kenya

This book is for the woman reclaiming her voice.
For the one starting over.
For the ones who know that healing and fear can coexist—and that courage is simply the decision to show up anyway.

Here’s to doing it afraid, and doing it whole. 🌸
