Landmark studies, including those by the Aga Khan University Brain and Mind Institute, have indicated that over half of sampled Kenyan adults exhibit probable signs of PTSD. The drivers of this trauma are multifaceted, ranging from historical and election-related violence to high rates of domestic and sexual abuse, particularly in informal settlements.
