I need your help 💜
On Tuesday January 28, I was driving to work on a single lane highway, when a car pulled out of the shoulder and across my path of travel to make an illegal u-turn. I was traveling at 65mph and approaching a guard rail, so there was nothing I could do, but hit the horn and try to slow down before we hit. With only a few seconds notice, the impact was inevitable. My front driver's side corner hit his rear driver's corner, deploying my air bags, which left me with 3 fractures in the wrist of my dominant hand and a totaled vehicle.
A week after the crash, I had surgery to put a plate and screws in my radius. The hope is, that the immobilization from this procedure will allow the other two fractures to heal without surgical intervention, but there's a chance I might need another surgery down the line. Once I've recovered from surgery, I'll have to start physical therapy. I've been told to anticipate being out of work for 4 months.
The other driver accepted liability, but I won't be reimbursed for my medical bills until all treatments are completed. In the meantime, I've had to drain all of my bank accounts to cover my surgical facility and anesthesia costs, even with health insurance. Without paying those costs beforehand, I would not have been able to receive surgery.
Now I'm left with an empty bank account, no way to work, or even get to work, and medical bills that will continue to pile up. I've setup a GoFundMe, to ask for assistance in covering not only my personal expenses, but to keep my business open as well. I rent a converted house, and rent out rooms to other businesses so they can operate out of them without the majority of the burden that comes with having a brick and mortar. Even after their rent, there is still an additional $1233 that I have to cover with my income.
So I'm asking for your help, not only to keep a roof over my head, and my dream alive, but the dreams of other business owners as well. Even if you're unable to donate, sharing my GoFundMe goes a long way when it comes to reaching my goal.
