‎The newly appointed PHOTC Board held its inaugural meeting on Thursday 27th August 2026, officially setting the stage for a new chapter of leadership, governance, and strategic direction. The meeting was led by Board Chair, Ahmed Fankey, alongside CEO/Registrar Anthony Wainaina. A strong foundation was laid as the Board commences its work of providing strategic oversight and driving PHOTC's mandate forward.

The Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) today on 19th August 2026 continued with the Spot Evaluation assessment as part of the August 2026 Professional Examination Series at KMTC Nairobi Campus.

The exercise was overseen by PHOTC Chairperson, Mr. Ahmed Fankey, PHOTC Registrar and CEO, Mr. Anthony Wainaina and Board Member, Ms. Halima Gababa, who monitored the conduct of the assessment to ensure adherence to the PHOTC examination standards, procedures and guidelines.

The Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) is participating in the Kenya Health Summit 2026, taking place from 18th–19th August 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

‎Led by Board Chair Ahmed Fankey and CEO/Registrar Anthony Wainaina, the Council is showcasing its regulatory mandate and engaging stakeholders on the role of professional regulation in strengthening Kenya's health system. The Summit further provides an important platform to demonstrate how quality training, professional examinations, registration, licensing, inspection, compliance and continuing professional development contribute to a competent and responsive Public Health workforce.

‎Today PHOTC was honoured to welcome Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, to its exhibition booth, where she engaged with the Council's leadership and team.

The Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) today on 17th August 2026 officially launched the August 2026 Professional Examinations Series during the candidate rehearsal and final briefing session held at KMTC Nairobi Campus.

The launch was presided over by the PHOTC Chairperson, Mr. Ahmed Fankey, in the presence of the PHOTC Registrar and CEO, Mr. Anthony Wainaina; Board Member, Ms. Halima Gababa; Secretary General, APHOK, Mr. Mohamed Duba; Secretary General, KEHPHPU, Mr. Brown Ashira; Secretariat staff, examination invigilators and candidates.

Key emphasis during the session was placed on integrity, professionalism, discipline, fairness and strict adherence to examination guidelines and policies, as the Council continues to uphold the credibility and integrity of the professional examination process.

Candidates were also taken through the examination procedures, expectations and professional conduct ahead of the examinations scheduled for 17th to 20th August 2026 at KMTC Nairobi Campus.

PHOTC appreciates all stakeholders for their collaboration and wishes all candidates success in their professional examinations.

PHOTC today on 17th August 2026 conducted an induction session for examination invigilators ahead of the August 2026 Professional Examinations Series.

The session focused on examination procedures, invigilator responsibilities, integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and strict adherence to the Council's examination guidelines and policies. This is in line with the Council's commitment to maintaining a credible, fair and secure professional examination process.

PHOTC wishes all candidates success as they undertake their professional examinations.

2. The examination will be conducted at Nairobi Examination Center, Kenya Medical Training College, Nairobi next to Kenyatta National Referral Hospital (KNH).
3. The examination will be conducted as per the timetable shared, as from 17th to 20th August 2026.
4. All Candidates will be required to present an examination card (Provided in the portal) and an Original National Identity Card.
5. All Candidates are required to attend the rehearsals.

The Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) has successfully concluded a three-day induction programme for its newly appointed Council members, held from 4th to 6th August 2026.

Led by 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐲 and 𝐂𝐄𝐎/𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚, the programme equipped Council members with a comprehensive understanding of PHOTC's statutory mandate, governance framework, regulatory functions, financial oversight and strategic priorities to support effective oversight and informed decision-making.

The induction marks an important milestone in strengthening the Council's governance and institutional capacity as it continues to advance excellence in the regulation of Public Health training and professional practice in Kenya.

PHOTC commenced a three-day induction programme for its newly appointed Council members, running from 4th to 6th August 2026, to strengthen institutional governance and strategic oversight. The programme is equipping Council members with a comprehensive understanding of PHOTC's statutory mandate, governance framework, regulatory functions, financial oversight and strategic priorities to support effective leadership and informed decision-making.
