👩🏻‍⚕️ APS 2026 XERF 발표 👩🏻‍⚕️

봄 학회 시즌의 꽃이라고 할 수 있는
대한미용성형외과학회의 국제학술대회 ‘Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2026’에서 세르프를 이용한 ’Skin tightening and facial reshaping technique에 대해 발표하였습니다.

청중으로 오신 외국인 의사분들의 관심을 통해
세르프의 세계적인 인기와 인지도 상승 효과를 몸소 느낄 수 있는 시간이었습니다.

세르프는 기술적으로 훌륭한 장비기 때문에 누구나 만족할 수 있도록 프로토콜을 표준화하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 특히 한국이 아닌 국가들 중 의사가 아닌 의료인들이 시술할 수 있는 환경에서는 더더욱 그렇습니다.

그러나 또 한편으로는 시술자마다 다른 효과를 얻을 수 있다는 면을 최대한 활용하는 것도 세르프만의 강점이라고 생각합니다. 특히나 해부학적 구조에 익숙한 성형외과 의사분들께 이러한 세르프의 매력이 잘 어필되는 강의가 되었기를 바랍니다.

At the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2026 Congress, one of the highlights of the spring conference season, I had the opportunity to present on “Skin Tightening and Facial Reshaping Techniques Using XERF.”

It was especially rewarding to feel the growing global interest and recognition of XERF through the engagement of international doctors in the audience.

As a technically advanced device, it is essential to standardize protocols so that consistent and satisfying results can be achieved by all practitioners. This becomes even more important in countries where procedures may be performed by non-physician medical professionals.

At the same time, I believe one of XERF’s unique strengths lies in its ability to produce varied outcomes depending on the practitioner. I hope this lecture effectively highlighted that appeal, particularly for plastic surgeons who are highly familiar with anatomical structures.

🪄 레이저성형심포지엄 발표 🪄

지난 3월 22일에는 강북삼성병원에서 열린
레이저성형심포지엄에 참석했습니다.

이날 저는 ‘CO2 프락셀 레이저를 이용한 피부 항노화 치료’ 대한 발표와
에너지 기반 장비 라운드테이블 세션의 좌장,
그리고 세르프 장비 핸즈온 시연까지 함께하며 바쁜 하루를 보냈습니다. 특히 핸즈온 세션은 직접 시술을 보여드리면서 설명해야 하는 자리라
더욱 긴장되더라구요.

꽃피는 계절은 학회의 계절이기도 한데요.
오랜만에 여러 선생님들과 만나 지식을 나누고 배우는 시간이었습니다.
덕분에 벚꽃놀이는 잠시 미뤄두었지만,
그만큼 더 보람 있는 일요일이었습니다🤗

앞으로도 더 나은 진료와 결과로 보답하겠습니다. 감사합니다 🌸🩷

🪄 Laser Plastic Surgery Symposium 🪄

On March 22, I attended the Laser Plastic Surgery Symposium held at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital.

I had a busy but rewarding day—delivering a presentation on skin rejuvenation treatment using CO2 fractional laser, serving as the moderator for the energy-based devices roundtable session, and leading a hands-on demonstration of the Xerf device.

The hands-on session, in particular, required performing procedures while explaining each step, which made it especially engaging and focused.

Spring is also the season of conferences. It was a meaningful time to reconnect with fellow colleagues, exchange knowledge, and continue learning together.

Although I had to miss out on enjoying the cherry blossoms, it was still a fulfilling Sunday 🤗

오늘 멘드는 진료를 쉬어가는 날이지만,
멀츠 본사의 초청으로 사내강의를 진행하고 왔습니다.

성형외과 전문의로서 생각하는 안면부 리프팅에서

🪄 Ultherapy Prime Lecture at Merz HQ 🪄

Today, I was invited by Merz esthetics HQ to give an in-house lecture.

From a plastic surgeon’s perspective, I shared insights on facial lifting, the unique strengths of Ultherapy Prime, and combination protocols I use to enhance skin quality improvement.

Recently, there has been growing interest in new anatomical perspectives on the SMAS layer in plastic surgery, and I had the chance to engage in thoughtful discussions and answer insightful questions on the topic.

Ultherapy Prime is one of the most powerful non-invasive lifting devices, and it’s a treatment both my patients and I truly appreciate. I was a bit nervous being invited by the headquarters, but I hope I was able to effectively convey a plastic surgeon’s unique perspective.

🧬 The Metacell Story 🧬

Metacell is a cell-activation device developed in Spain.
During the procedure, we first draw a small amount of the patient’s blood and use centrifugation to obtain PRP (platelet-rich plasma). The PRP is then transferred into a dedicated German kit for Metacell. When the device is activated, it gradually exposes the PRP to specific wavelengths of light and controlled temperatures, activating the stem cells, autologous exosomes, and growth factors contained within the PRP.

These activated components can be administered via IV infusion for anti-aging purposes. However, the method we use more often at our clinic is as a skin booster—injecting it into the skin to help restore the skin barrier and improve the dermal environment.

The treatment became even more widely known after Kim Kardashian reportedly received it in Korea and was pleased with the results.

Because Metacell is a high-cost procedure, it’s difficult to describe it as ‘cost-effective’. That said, since stem-cell culture is restricted in Korean clinics, I believe Metacell is one of the safest and most effective options for maximizing the benefits of stem cell–related activity without culturing.

After becoming a board-certified plastic surgeon, my first workplace was a clinic well known for stem cell treatments. At that time, I had the opportunity to present and study together with the director at international conferences such as IFATS (International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science) and ISCT (International Society for Cell Therapy), focusing on psoriasis treatment and early scar improvement using adipose-derived stem cells. Going forward, based on the Metacell system, I plan to study more deeply and further develop reverse-aging/anti-aging treatments that aim to rejuvenate the body at the cellular level.

안녕하세요😀
멘드에 메타셀 장비가 도입된 이후,
자세한 소개를 드리지 못했음에도 불구하고
이번 1월 이벤트에 많은 관심을 보내주셔서 감사드립니다.

메타셀은 스페인에서 만들어진 세포 활성화 장비입니다.
시술시에는 환자분의 혈액을 채혈한 뒤 원심분리를 통해
PRP(혈소판풍부혈장) 를 먼저 획득합니다.
이후 메타셀 전용 독일제 키트로 PRP를 옮겨 장비를 구동하면,
특정 파장의 빛과 온도에 단계적으로 노출시켜 PRP 성분 안에 포함된 줄기세포, 자가 엑소좀과 성장인자들을 활성화시킵니다.

활성화된 성분은 정맥주사로 투여하여 항노화 목적에 활용할 수 있습니다. 본원에서 더 많이 사용하는 방식은 스킨부스터 개념으로 피부에 주사하여 피부 장벽을 회복하고 진피 환경을 개선하는 목적입니다.

킴 카다시안이 한국에서 시술을 받고 만족했다는 이유로 알려지며
더 유명해진 시술이기도 한데요.

메타셀은 고가 시술인 만큼 ‘가성비가 좋다’고 말씀드리기는 어렵지만,
국내에서는 의원에서의 줄기세포 배양이 제한되어 있기 때문에
배양 없이 줄기세포의 역할을 최대한 안전하고 효과적으로 끌어내기에는
안전하고 효과적인 시술 중 하나라고 생각합니다.

저는 성형외과 전문의가 된 이후 처음 근무했던 병원이
줄기세포 시술로 유명한 곳이었고,
당시 대표원장님과 함께 IFATS(International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science), ISCT(International Society for Cell Therapy) 등 국제학회에서
지방유래줄기세포를 이용한 건선 질환 및 초기 흉터 개선 등에 대해
발표하고 공부했던 경험이 있습니다.

그동안은 연구실 등의 여건상 세포치료 분야를
충분히 이어가지 못했던 부분이 있었는데요,
앞으로는 메타셀 장비를 기반으로
세포 단계부터 젊어지는 역노화/항노화 시술에 대해
더 깊이 공부하고 발전시켜 나가고자 합니다.

지난 주 목요일에는 자문의로 활동하고 있는 아모레퍼시픽의 ‘아이오페’ 팀과 워크샵을 가졌습니다.

최근 리프팅 시술의 트렌드와 시판중인 홈 디바이스의 원리 및 효과, 그리고 PDRN 성분의 임상적 역할에 대해 강의하였습니다.
이후에는 Q&A 시간으로 얼굴의 노화와 외국인 환자의 선호 시술 등 다양한 방면에 대해 질문을 주셔서 열심히 대답해드리고 왔습니다.

💙 IOPE Advisory Workshop 💙

Last Thursday, I had a workshop with the Amorepacific IOPE team, where I serve as a medical advisor.

I gave a lecture on recent trends in lifting procedures, the mechanisms and effectiveness of at-home beauty devices currently on the market, and the clinical role of PDRN.
Afterward, we had a Q&A session, and I was happy to answer a wide range of questions—from facial aging to the procedures preferred by international patients.

IOPE is a brand built on extensive research data and technological expertise, so I’m truly proud to be involved as an advisor. Perhaps because of that strong brand philosophy, the team listened so attentively and asked such thoughtful, passionate questions—thank you.

These days, Olive Young shopping has become a must-do for many of my international patients, and when I recommend skincare, IOPE’s Vitamin C serum and retinol are always on the list!
