When 30+°C makes your workout feel harder… 🌡️
If your usual workout suddenly feels MUCH harder in summer heat, don’t panic!
you haven’t lost your fitness.
Your body is doing two jobs at once:
-working
-trying to cool you down
In the heat, your heart works harder, your heart rate can rise, and your pace or power may drop, even when you’re putting in the same effort.
So this summer, train by effort-not by numbers.
Your usual pace, reps, weights or heart-rate targets may need to change. And that’s OK.
-Slow down when you need to.
-Hydrate before you feel thirsty.
-Replace electrolytes when you’re sweating heavily.
Adjust the intensity- don’t abandon the workout.
Listen to your body, not your ego.
With regular exposure, your body gradually adapts to the heat and workouts can start to feel more manageable again.
A slower session in 30 or even 50°C doesn’t mean you’re getting weaker.
It means you’re training in a completely different environment.
So don’t chase yesterday’s numbers.
Show up. Adjust. Adapt. Keep going.
Your fitness is still there.
You just need to train smarter in the heat.
I hope this helps
