Founded in 2016, it offers skills, support, and hope—believing deaf people can thrive and succeed just like anyone else. The Hands of Hope Center is a vocational training and education center for the deaf in Laos. Founded with a strong vision to uplift and empower deaf individuals, HOH provides education, life skills, and job training for children, youth, and adults who are deaf. Since its establi

shment in 2016, the center has grown into a safe and supportive community where deaf people can learn, express themselves, and develop their talents. The center offers classes in Lao Sign Language, reading and writing, computer skills, and various vocational training programs. HOH also works to raise awareness about deaf culture and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. The center organizes events, workshops, and campaigns to promote inclusion, reduce discrimination, and build a more understanding society. At the heart of the Hands of Hope Center is a commitment to equality, dignity, and opportunity—believing that deaf people can do anything, except hear.

ສູນຝຶກວິຊາຊີບຄົນຫູໜວກ ມືແຫ່ງຄວາມຫວັງ (Hands of Hope Center) ໄດ້ນຳພາສະມາຊິກຄົນຫູໜວກເຂົ້າຮ່ວມກິດຈະກຳທັດສະນະສຶກສາ ແລະ ແລກປ່ຽນຮຽນຮູ້ ຢູ່ເມືອງວັງວຽງ ເປັນເວລາ 2 ວັນ 1 ຄືນ.

ໃນການເດີນທາງຄັ້ງນີ້ ສະມາຊິກໄດ້ຮ່ວມກິດຈະກຳຫຼາກຫຼາຍ ທັງການຕັ້ງແຄ້ມ, ທ່ອງທ່ຽວສຶກສາທຳມະຊາດ, ການສ້າງມິດຕະພາບ ແລະ ແລກປ່ຽນປະສົບການກັບກຸ່ມຄົນຫູໜວກຈາກພື້ນທີ່ອື່ນໆ.

Hands of Hope Deaf Vocational Training Center organized a 2-day, 1-night educational and learning exchange trip to Vang Vieng for our deaf members.

During this journey, participants enjoyed various activities including camping, exploring nature, building friendships, and exchanging experiences with other deaf groups from different areas. The trip provided not only joy and unforgettable memories but also valuable opportunities to develop life skills, teamwork, and self-confidence.

We believe that every experience is a meaningful lesson that broadens perspectives and creates new opportunities for deaf people to learn, grow, and thrive in society.

On the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Laos–China Diplomatic Relations and the Laos–China Friendship Year, Hands of Hope Deaf Vocational Training Center was honored and delighted to participate in this meaningful event and to have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Naly Sisoulith, spouse of H.E. President Thongloun Sisoulith of the Lao PDR, and Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Lao PDR.

Both distinguished guests graciously visited and appreciated the handicrafts and handmade products created by our deaf members. This recognition is a great source of pride and encouragement for our center, inspiring us to continue developing skills and demonstrating that deaf people possess valuable talents and can make meaningful contributions to society.

🤍 A small message from Hands of Hope Vocational Training Center for the Deaf

We are helping deaf people in Laos begin a new life.

Many never had the chance to go to school.
Many never had friends.
Many lived their whole lives without anyone understanding them.

But today…
they are learning, smiling, communicating, and believing in themselves again.

Right now, our center is lacking food and daily necessities.

We currently need:

🍚 Rice
🥚 Eggs
🍜 Instant noodles / dry food
💧 Drinking water
🧴 Daily supplies
💛 Or financial support

For some people, these may seem small.
But for us, they are hope, food, and a future for many deaf lives.

On 30th September and 1st October 2025, Hands of Hope Center had the great honor to participate in the 2nd National Conference on Population and Development under the theme “Educate, Employ, Empower & Engage.” ✨

On behalf of Hands of Hope, we sincerely thank UFPA for inviting us to be part of this important national platform. We also thank UNFPA for its commitment in raising awareness and preventing violence against women and children — a mission that strongly aligns with our own goal of protecting and supporting Deaf individuals who face abuse.

This participation is not only about learning, but also about opening a new world — showing everyone that the inclusion of persons with disabilities is vital for the development of society. 🌏💡
