Behind every polished post, there's a whole side we do not usually show.
The messy hair, the tired faces, the laughter that comes out of nowhere, the chaos between appointments, the quick meals, the inside jokes, the hugs in the hallway, and the little moments that somehow get us through the hardest days. These are the clips that normally stay in our camera rolls. Just us being us, working, laughing, worrying, checking on patients again and again, and trying to hold each other up when the day feels heavier than usual.
Some days are intense in ways that are hard to explain. Our doctors do not just treat a case and move on. They get attached. They remember every detail, wait anxiously for updates, celebrate every tiny improvement, and carry the difficult cases home with them. Sometimes they hold everything together for the patient, the family, and the team, then quietly fall apart themselves when it all becomes too much. We share the joy when someone recovers, but we also share the fear, the pain, the tears, and the heartbreak when things do not go the way we prayed they would.
This job asks a lot from the heart, but it gives so much back too. We get to witness second chances, impossible recoveries, rescues finding safety, and families being reunited with the animals they love most. We get to work beside people who care deeply, sometimes too deeply, and we get to be part of a rescue community and a Canicat family that has grown around us over all these years.
These are the moments behind the medicine. The beautiful ones, the exhausting ones, the heartbreaking ones, and the ones that remind us why we keep showing up and giving everything we have. 🤍🐾
