A cross-sectional study of 507 Lebanese adults using the WHOQOL-BREF found vaccination significantly associated with physical health scores (vaccinated 52.69 vs. unvaccinated 47.11, p=0.014). Males, physically active individuals, and independent workers scored higher across all four quality-of-life domains. Number of vaccine doses did not significantly affect any domain, indicating that vaccination itself rather than dose number drives the benefit.

A 52-year-old woman with progressive lower back and thigh pain underwent multiple inconclusive investigations before MRI revealed leptomeningeal and intramedullary enhancement of the thoracic spine without nodal involvement. CSF cytology demonstrated emperipolesis and S-100-positive histiocytes, confirming RDD as the diagnosis. Full remission was achieved on corticosteroids, successfully tapered at eight months without recurrence of symptoms.

Rising antimicrobial resistance has renewed clinical interest in bacteriophage therapy, particularly against ESKAPE organisms. Phages reduce bacterial loads, degrade biofilms, and can be combined with antibiotics for synergistic effect. Clinical studies show 85% positive outcomes and phage-antibiotic combinations reach 70% resolution in staphylococcal infections. Regulatory gaps and dosing uncertainty remain key barriers to broader adoption.

A retrospective review of 11,396 patients at a Lebanese infectious diseases clinic documented an 862% increase in syphilis from 2006 to 2019, reaching 19.52% positivity by 2023. Among 91 detailed cases, 81% were HIV-positive, 95.6% were male, and 98% had primary or secondary syphilis responding to benzathine penicillin G. HIV parameters including CD4 count and viral load were not significantly associated with serological treatment response.

Mpox Clade 1, with a case-fatality rate of around 10%, drove the 2024 global outbreak, prompting a WHO PHEIC declaration. Transmission occurs through skin contact, sexual activity, or animal contact; lesions remain infective until all scabs fall off. Diagnosis relies on PCR of lesion swabs, treatment is supportive, and the JYNNEOS vaccine provides post-exposure prophylaxis if given within 14 days of high-risk exposure.

A 67-year-old with hepatitis B cirrhosis presented repeatedly with back pain treated symptomatically. Despite normal neurological examination, imaging revealed multifocal osteolytic lesions throughout the axial skeleton with pathological fractures, and AFP was 12,244 IU/mL confirming metastatic hepatocarcinoma. Advanced bone metastases can coexist with preserved mobility; a low imaging threshold in elderly patients with persistent back pain is essential.

A 55-year-old woman with prior breast and endometrial cancer presented with two months of right leg swelling attributed to erysipelas after a negative DVT workup. An elevated D-dimer of 3120 ng/mL prompted abdominal-pelvic CT, revealing peritoneal carcinomatosis compressing the right external iliac vein. Venous obstruction caused by peritoneal carcinomatosis as a primary cause of unilateral limb oedema has not previously been documented.
