Concern in Foya After Alleged Border Crossing by Guinean Troops

Residents in communities surrounding Foya were unsettled early this morning after information spread that soldiers from Guinea had reportedly moved across the river marking the boundary between Liberia and Guinea.

According to the report, the soldiers crossed the Makona River, placed a pole on the land, and raised the Guinean flag while asserting that the territory belongs to Guinea. The news quickly traveled through nearby towns and villages, prompting many residents to head toward Foya for information and clarity.

The situation caused anxiety among people within the Foya Statutory District, with many expressing uncertainty about the development. As a precaution, several school authorities in Foya decided to dismiss students earlier than usual to keep them safe.

Despite the tension, commercial activities in the city are continuing, although many residents remain watchful and concerned about the situation.

Calm Returns to Sorlumba Border After Liberiaโ€“Guinea Dialogue

Peace has returned to the Sorlumba border between Liberia and Guinea after leaders from both countries held discussions over a dispute involving sand mining in the Makona River near Foya District in Lofa County.

The disagreement started when a company began removing sand from the river. Guinean soldiers later stopped the work and took the mining machines, claiming the river belongs to Guinea and that permission was needed before any activity could take place there.

To address the issue, Liberiaโ€™s Internal Affairs Minister Francis Sakila Nyumalin led a delegation, including officials from the Armed Forces of Liberia, to Guinea for talks with Guinean authorities led by Ibrahima Condรฉ.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the strong relationship between the two countries and agreed on steps to reduce tensions. Liberia also agreed to move its flag back to its original checkpoint location near the border.

Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai was praised for promoting peace in the region. Liberia also requested the return of the confiscated equipment so the sand mining could continue for development purposes.

Guinean authorities said the machines will first be inspected by their Ministry of Mines before a final decision is made.

Officials say the situation at the border is now calm, and cross-border trade has resumed normally.

This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country. We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us. As I said last night, โ€œNow they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!โ€ Hopefully, the IRGC and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots, and work together as a unit to bring back the Country to the Greatness it deserves.
