Meet our newest Consultant. Emmanuel Godchild Williams a distinguished Senior Agriculture Extension Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture in the Republic of Liberia, brought with him an impressive five-year track record in delivering agriculture extension services to rural farmers across Liberia. Within the dynamic landscape of the Department of Regional Development, Research & Extension, he specializes in providing technical support, particularly in implementing the Climate Smart Agriculture Approach for Lowland Rice Production. Emmanuel is also actively engaged in contributing to agribusiness development initiatives, with a specific focus on supporting smallholder farmers.
Presently, Mr. Williams holds a pivotal role in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), where he acts as a focal person and core trainer for the noteworthy project titled "Improving Rice Production for Smallholder Farmers." This impactful initiative aims to introduce cutting-edge farming techniques and methodologies, directly benefiting farmers in B**g County.
Emmanuel D. Williams is not only a seasoned professional but also a highly educated individual, holding a Bachelor's degree in General Agriculture from the prestigious University of Liberia. His quest for knowledge extends further through professional certifications, including one in Business Plan Preparation and Operations Management for SMEs in Food Processing from the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Hyderabad, India. Additionally, he boasts certificates in Lowland Rice Production Techniques in Sub-Saharan Africa and Business Leadership from Kampala, Uganda, and Purdue University in the United States, respectively. Recently, his active participation in Rice Cultivation Techniques earned him well-deserved recognition in Egypt.
As a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow, Mr. Williams remains dedicated to academic excellence, he’s an MSc candidate researching the effect of organic materials on w**d control and rice yield in the laboratory of Dr. Morokuma at Kagawa University, Japan. His unwavering commitment to agricultural development, technical prowess, and international collaborations underscore his mission to propel sustainable farming practices and provide essential support to smallholder farmers in Liberia.
