This , we are highlighting the Professional Framework for Midwifery which brings together everything needed to build, strengthen and sustain the profession — from education and regulation to leadership, research, and enabling environments. Each element is interconnected, meaning progress in one strengthens them all, and gaps in one can hold the whole system back.

Independent Midwives Association Lesotho held its AGM on the 28th March and 1st April—an impactful and timely gathering reflecting the association’s continued growth.
Key highlights included the dissemination of the IMAL reports, as well Bridge Program report, clear way forward strategies, and strong engagement of early career and student midwives, and as well, our retired Midwives in the midst of unemployment.
We proudly continue to promote the One Million More Midwives initiative, with valued support from ICM, the Ministry of Health (Director of Nursing Services & Family Health Division), Nursing Schools, Lesotho Nursing Council and ECSACONM.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to advancing midwifery in Lesotho.
