9 HOME REMEDIES FOR NATURAL COLON CLEANSING
The colon is very important organ in the digestive system. Its job is to take water, salt, vitamins, and nutrients out of food that cannot be digested, break down food that was not digested in the small intestine, and remove solid waste from the body.
But when the colon doesn’t work properly, it takes in toxins, instead of removing them, causing problems like headaches, bloating, constipation, gas, weight gain, low energy, fatigue and chronic illnesses.
These problems can also be caused by foods that weren’t digested – most foods that we eat today are full of additives, preservatives, and other chemicals. That leads to a buildup mucus in the colon, creating toxins that poison the body.
But with the help of the colon cleaning, you get rid of bad toxins, and boost healthy bacteria in the intestines. It will also give you energy and help the body take in vitamins and nutrients.
There are many treatments available for cleaning the colon. But for a lot of people, the best options are simple, natural cures.
Before starting any colon cleansing treatment, ask your doctor for instructions, especially if you are taking any medications or suffering from any health condition.
1. Water
The best thing you can do for colon cleansing is drink a lot of water. It is important to drink at least 10 – 12 glasses of water a day. This will help your body flush out the harmful toxins and waste in a natural way. Drinking a lot of water will also help the natural peristaltic action, helping the food move through the digestive system. Also, water is important to keep your body well hydrated. Together with water you can drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
2. Apple Juice
Another great thing for colon cleansing is fresh apple juice. If you drink apple juice all the time, it can help bowel movements, break down toxins, and boost the health of the liver and the digestive system.
3. Lemon Juice
Lemons are good for the digestive system because they have antioxidant properties and are full of vitamin C. For this reason, lemon juice is great for colon cleansing. Mix the juice of one lemon, a pinch of sea salt, and a little honey in a glass of lukewarm water. Drink this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach. This will give you more energy, better bowel movement, and better skin condition.
4. Raw Vegetable Juice
For colon cleansing, it is important to keep away from processed and cooked foods for 1 or 2 days. Instead of eating solid foods, drink fresh vegetable juice a few times a day. Green vegetables are good because they have chlorophyll, which helps force toxins out of the body. They also have vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes which will keep your body healthy, and give you energy. You can also drink herbal teas.
5. Fiber-rich Foods
Eating foods that full of fiber will also help cleanse the colon of bad toxins. Fiber will keep the stool soft and help bowel movement, which helps the body force out waste products. Foods that are full of fiber will also get rid of any kind of intestinal problem. You can add a lot of fiber to your diet by eating fresh fruits like raspberries, pears, and apples, and fresh vegetables like peas and broccoli. There also a lot of fiber in cereals, whole grains, nuts, beans and seeds.
6. Yogurt
Eating fresh yogurt all the time is a good way to keep the colon healthy. Because yogurt is a probiotic food, it can bring good bacteria into the gut and help digestion. It can also fight inflammatory bowel disease. This is especially true of yogurts that have live and active cultures.
7. Flaxseed
Because flaxseed is full of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and natural fibers, adding it to your diet is a great way to cleanse your colon. Flaxseed will take in the water and then swell in the colon, and help force out toxins and mucus as the waste passes through. It can also block cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
8. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is known for killing toxins and acts as a laxative. This makes it a great colon cleanser. Aloe Vera gel can also treat other health problems, like headaches, skin infection, diarrhea, gastric pain, and constipation. Add the juice of one lemon to fresh aloe vera gel and put the mixture in the blender to make a few ounces of smooth juice. Drink it a few times a day for a few days.
9. Ginger
Ginger is a common ingredient that can lessen bloating, help the colon work properly and keep it free from waste and bad toxins. It helps digestion by making the digestive juices flow. You can use ginger in any form, such as grated, as a juice, or as cut up pieces for colon cleansing.

AGRIBUSINESS: HOW TO FIND MARKET FOR YOUR FARM PRODUCE & WAYS YOU CAN SELL THEM
1. Research before planting– You need to research about the market demand before planting any crop in your farm. If the demand is low then you need to change your business plan and move to the next crop. The demand of a product is important because it also affects the selling price.
2. Apply for tenders– Many, supermarkets, colleges, universities, schools and organisations offer tenders for the supply of agricultural produce. Contact your nearest school and ask if they have any tenders for supply that is open.
3.Transport– The price for a particular produce is different from One town to another, therefore find a means of transporting your produce to another town, city or country for selling. e.g I know of Zambians farmers that take maize bran to Botswana and come back with Salt, straight to Kasubalesa border near Congo. And several produce/livestock such as groundnuts, fish, tomatoes, onions and goats etc being taken to Kasubalesa for sell. If you do not own a lorry or pickup truck you can hire one but this will be a little expensive depending on the distance you are transporting.
4. Create your own market– If you really believe your product is worth it and necessary, then you can go ahead and create your own market. Try and demonstrate to your community the importance of your product and how it will benefit them. Identify a problem they are facing and use your product as the solution. If you are rearing Rabbits you can start by introducing Rabbit eating slowly by making samosas made from Rabbit meat, you will be surprised how people will love it and ask for more!
HOW CAN YOU SELL YOUR FARM PRODUCE?
This is one of the biggest questions facing farmers in Africa. You might be an excellent farmer when it comes to planting crops, but when it comes to finding market for them, that’s where things get a bit tricky. The key to selling farm products is that one has to understand the products you are selling. If you don’t know the products benefits this means you will be missing chances to woo prospective customers. Knowing your farm products also help you to answer any technical question presented by the customer.
There are five (5) main ways you can sell your farm produce;
1. Direct farm sales or on farm sales.
This is whereby a farmer sells his/her produce on the farm after harvest and can simply be done via a farm stand. This is the simplest and most convenient method of making sales since one does not have to carry produce anywhere since customers are readily available and buy from the farm therefore saves on transport costs.
2. Restaurants and hotels.
Restaurants and Hotels in Africa are always buying farm produce. Without farm produce there is no food and this means no business for the hotels. You can easily find market in a hotel or restaurant by visiting one and checking out the menu and type of food served. This will help you get information of what you can supply. Submit a request to supply later to the Chef/Head Cook inquiring if you can supply your produce to them. Bring samples of the products to the hotel and book an appointment with them to come and look at your products so that they can build confidence in your products. Finally you arrange with the buyer schedule of delivery and prices.
3. Distribution to institutions.
If you are a medium/large scale farmer, you can apply for tender to supply to supermarkets, hospitals, County governments, Universities and Secondary Schools. Market is constantly assured in institutions due to the large population. Clinching a supply tender will be a game changer to your profit margins.
4. Food distributor.
Food distributors provide a link between the farmer and the market. They help reduce the amount of labour used when dealing with direct marketing. To start selling to a distributor, one has to ensure that the product is legal and that there is proper documentation and packaging standards. Good communication with distributors on pricing and they will collect the products is very crucial for a long term relationship/ partnership in agribusiness.
5. Through the internet.
The internet makes everything easier these days and the farmers have seen this. They are going digital. Advertising products through the internet is now a viable for marketing tool for selling your farm produce. The internet increases farm visibility for both local and international marketing. One can also sell directly on the web to consumers by shipping them the products and offering pick up.

If you visit our farm you can find honey bees on the sunflower, they are busy all day collecting nectar to fill their hives up. Honeybees and plants are both beneficial for each other, plants provide nectar for honeybees and honeybees pollinate the plant. Honeybees collect nectar and use it to make honey. Hence the relation between honeybees and plants is mutually beneficial.
