🚒 Firefighters from Poland and Lithuania met in Milewszczyzna for a joint competition under the “Strengthening systems for responding to disasters in forest and peat bog ecosystems in the border area” project.

The event promoted cross-border cooperation, skills development, and community engagement, while supporting preparedness for natural disasters in forest and peatland ecosystems.

🌿 Exciting progress at the Environmental Education Center in Ełk!

On 20 August 2026, new educational furniture made of solid oak wood was delivered, completing the equipment of the future Volunteer Water Monitoring Center established under the “Water is Wealth” project.

Together with the laboratory and teaching equipment already in place, the new facilities will help students investigate the condition of Lake Ełk’s ecosystem, build environmental awareness, and inspire the next generation of water stewards. 💧🌍

Cleaner waters ahead at Alkos II Pond! 💧

Divers have surveyed the pond bed and marked objects that need to be removed before the main cleanup begins. Old trees, concrete blocks, and other large debris are already being extracted as part of the “Water is wealth” project.
