🧬 PMNET Forum 2026 | Day 2
Day 2 brought together science, healthcare and innovation - from cardiogenetics, translational medicine, microbiome and One Health to AI, health & omics data and the future of precision medicine.

Alongside the scientific programme, discussions explored health data for research and innovation, Latvia’s RIS3 priorities, funding opportunities, commercialisation and pathways for bringing new ideas from research to real-world application.

Throughout the day, researchers, clinicians, policymakers, industry and innovators came together to exchange knowledge, build connections and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

🎗️At the heart of precision medicine is the patient!

One of the most powerful moments of PMNET Forum 2026 Day 1 was the story by Mailo Grühn and Mirjam Blattner-Johnson. Mirjam, together with her patient Mailo, shared how molecular tumour profiling helped identify a target for an innovative cellular immunotherapy. Following treatment, the tumour was no longer detectable, while liquid biopsies enabled precise monitoring of treatment response.
Inspired by his own journey, Mailo now hopes to study medicine at Heidelberg University and help others facing similar challenges.

💡Another important patient-focused discussion, “The Impact of Digitalisation on the Role and Rights of Patients in Research”, explored how digital transformation is reshaping patient involvement and rights in medical research.

Both sessions highlighted a shared message: precision medicine is not just about scientific breakthroughs - it’s about the people whose lives they can change.
❤️Ultimately, what benefits the patient benefits society as a whole.

🧬PMNET Forum 2026 - what a great first day!

Yesterday, the Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka / National Library of Latvia welcomed researchers, clinicians, patients, industry leaders and innovators from around the world for a day full of inspiring discussions, valuable insights and meaningful connections.

🔬From functional precision medicine and molecular diagnostics to cancer genetics, rare diseases and CAR-T therapies, Day 1 brought together the latest advances in precision medicine.

🤝A vibrant Expo Zone, engaging discussions and plenty of networking opportunities created space for new ideas, connections and hopefully lasting collaborations!

A big thank you to all our speakers, participants, exhibitors and partners for making Day 1 such a success!
