Hafa Adai CNMI! We are back after our weekend off.

The team jumpstarted the Monday with Mr. Ross taking attendance to see who’s looking forward to today’s activity, reading the newspaper to keep us up to date on current events around the island, and asking the crew what they did over the weekend.

After everything was settled, everyone ventured outside to the garden because it was time for Peer Support. The consumers were tasked with pulling out the pesky weeds to prevent them from taking nutrients and energy away from the other plants and allowing them to grow and produce healthy vegetables. Everyone worked hard and helped each other by pointing out which plants were weeds and needed to be pulled out. Great job, team!

Today’s delicious meal made by Chef Ignacio and his partner Antonia is chicken soup with a side of squash. The food was so good especially after a day in the garden. Thank you chefs Ignacio and Antonia 🍲

Good afternoon everyone! Today is Wednesday ⛅️

We kickstarted our morning with Mr. Jacob taking attendance and setting up our activities for the day. Shortly after our dear friend Mr. Konrad came to visit and conducted a theatre activity focused on action and movement. All consumers actively participated in the activity and followed along with the exercises. The activity encouraged participation, creativity, self-expression, and confidence.

Next, we held a fun group activity. For Halloween we will be having a door-decorating competition, putting the Monday/Wednesday group against the Tuesday/Thursday group to see who could decorate their door the best. The groups are determined to come out on top. Today’s group put in a lot of work to decorate.

The team was excited for today’s lunch of AtΓΉΓΉl ! The dish was prepared by Chef Ignacio, Ms. Elaine, and Antonia prepared. AtΓΉΓΉl is a warm porridge with rice,
coconut milk, and fish, a delicious meal to keep everyone healthy and productive.

Hello, everyone!
I hope you’re having a relaxing Monday!

Mr. Jacob conducted the morning routine by taking attendance and listening to everyone share stories about what they did over the weekend. The group also discussed current issues and reviewed the activities and plans for the day so everyone knew what to expect.

During Peer Support this morning, Mr. Jacob had the consumers work on a fun Halloween Vocabulary Worksheet, where they learned Halloween-related words and their meanings while enjoying a seasonal activity. πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

For lunch, Chef Ignacio and his partner Sherlyn prepared Tanaktak with rice. It was a delicious and nutritious meal that helped keep everyone energized for the rest of the day. 🍚πŸ₯₯

After lunch, the consumers participated in their Independent Living Skills (ILS) training both inside and outside the center

Hafa Adai, everyone! We would like to give a big thank you to Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan for their generous donation to the Center for Independent Living!

Crowne Plaza Saipan donated different kinds of art supplies for the consumers to use during activities at the center. These supplies will give our consumers more ways to be creative, have fun, and express themselves through art. We truly appreciate their kindness and support for our CLI community. Donations like this help us create fun and meaningful activities for our consumers.

Thank you, Crowne Plaza Saipan, for thinking of our consumers and supporting the work we do here at CLI!

Good Afternoon everyone! Today is Wednesday

We start off our morning with Mr. Chris taking attendance to see whose here, reading the newspaper to keep us updated on current events, and talks about the activity we’ll be doing

As part of Cultural Heritage Month, we were each given five coconut leaves to create our very own coconut crown! Mr. Chris provided us with a detailed step-by-step tutorial, guiding everyone through the process and showing us how to craft our crowns. Everyone was having a blast while helping each other out and in the end, the crowns turn out amazing.

For our main dish, Chef Ignacio, Elaine, and Pat prepared chicken kelaguen and latiyas for today’s lunch. Big thank you to Mr and Mrs. MuΓ±a for bringing pizza’s and cake to celebrate Raymond β€œRambo” birthday.
