When we simply leave nature to be nature… 🐔🌳
I discovered something right here in Malta that I honestly had no idea chickens could do…
They climb trees! 🌳🐔 well, they half fly and half hop.
There are so many chickens roaming freely around Malta and they don't seem to belong to anyone in particular, and yet somehow, they belong to everyone. ❤️ You see them in the middle of busy roads on the roundabouts which answers the question, 'why did the chicken cross the road?' ....... Clearly to get to the roundabout 🥰🤭
I recently watched them climbing up into the trees to roost for the night, and I was absolutely fascinated. I watched the younger chicks watch and follow. Who knew??? And here they are in the morning before coming down for the day.
I had never seen anything like it before. This is what should happen as they feel safe perched high up at night 🌙 but I never knew this.
Apparently, these chickens know exactly what they're doing. When they're left to live naturally, they find their own food, raise their chicks, wander wherever they please, and at night, they simply fly up into the trees and settle down safely amongst the branches.
It made me stop and think about how incredible nature is when we just leave it to its own devices.
We don't always need to manage it.
We don't always need to interfere.
When we give nature the freedom to be nature, it knows exactly what to do.
There is something so beautiful about watching these little families going about their lives, completely free.
And perhaps there is a lesson in that for us too…
Sometimes we just need to stop trying to control everything and trust that life knows what it's doing. 🌿❤️
