This piece represents the strange intimacy we share with the things we’ve lost. Old loves, old wounds, old dreams, old versions of ourselves that have long since died. We hold them close, afraid that letting go means forgetting, afraid that moving forward means betraying what once mattered. So we embrace them, mourn them, and keep them alive within us long after their time has passed. This piece is about that moment of surrender—the realization that growth demands a funeral. Not because the past was unworthy of our love, but because its chapter has ended. Sometimes the greatest act of self-love is finding the strength to release what no longer serves us and make room for who we are becoming.
