An Evening of Culture, History, and Innovation at Fort St Angelo✨

The Maltese Association of Urology recently had the pleasure of hosting a unique cultural evening at the magnificent Fort St Angelo, bringing together colleagues, friends, and partners in a truly special setting.

Guests enjoyed a guided tour of one of Malta’s most iconic landmarks, followed by wine tasting, local delicacies, and insightful educational talks. We were also delighted to explore the latest advancements in urological technology through interactive sessions and discussions.

A heartfelt thank you to Jamesco Trading for their generous sponsorship and continued support of medical education and innovation. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Heritage Malta for their collaboration and for helping showcase the rich history and cultural significance of Fort St Angelo, making the evening all the more memorable.

Most importantly, we are proud that the event supported Dar tal-Providenza, helping to make a meaningful contribution to an important local cause.

We look forward to many more opportunities to combine professional development, cultural appreciation, and community engagement.

We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of our dear colleague, Dr Ratko Jovanovic, a dedicated urologist whose commitment to patient care and professional excellence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him and the thousands of patients he treated with so much dignity and kindness. His wisdom and humility made him a trusted colleague and a valued friend.

He was not only a skilled clinician but also a talented mentor and tutor to many of the current consultants within the urology department in Malta where he worked between 1992 and 2008 before moving to Austria to retire together with his beloved wife, Dr Jovanca and his children and grandchildren. His absence will be profoundly felt within our urological community but his legacy will continue to inspire us in our work and in the care we provide.

The Maltese Association of Urology would like to extend its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
