Walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise.

Improve your step count to improve your health by:

-using idle moments to walk
-take the stairs instead of the lift
-when running errands that are close by, walk
-advance towards your walking goal gradually

Benefits:

-low impact
-cheap form of exercise
-maintain a Healthy Weight / lose weight
-prevent or manage health issues e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes
-improve cardiovascular fitness
-strengthen muscles and bones
-increase energy levels
improve mood and sleep
-improve balance and co-ordination
-reduces tension / stress

Stay motivated:

-track your progress with a step counter / fitness device
-walk with a friend
-vary your route
-join a walking group
-don't make walking a punishment / choose attainable distances or duration
