This evening, we are proudly celebrating 30 years of Villa Messina — three decades of quality care and community.

A special event is being held at Villa Messina bringing together residents, the CareMalta Group Management team, Group CEO of Vassallo Group Pio Vassallo, and the Chairperson of Vassallo Group Natalie Briffa Farrugia.

To mark this important milestone together we were also honoured to welcome Parliamentary Secretary for Active Ageing Deo Debattista, together with the Shadow Minister for Health Stephen Spiteri and the Shadow Minister for Active Ageing Paula Mifsud Bonnici, who joined us for this special occasion.

The increasing number of people living with dementia and the increasing need for treatment and care were the main topics discussed during the course: Ethics in Dementia Care, organised by KU Leuven, one of the largest and most renowned universities in Europe, to which CareMalta Group Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Noel Borg, together with Lara Grech, CareMalta Group Operations Manager, attended in Belgium.

Today we proudly inaugurated the new Library at Dar San Ġużepp, in collaboration with Malta Libraries

This special occasion was also marked by the presentation of the biography of Dun Manwel, written by Martin Gauci. The book shares the story of Dun Manwel’s time at Dar San Ġużepp, where he cared for the children in the orphanage, and also includes the story of his sister, who is one of our residents.

Our residents made the celebration even more special with a heartfelt performance, which was enjoyed by everyone present.
