Spent all day on your feet (or sitting at a desk)? Your nervous system needs this 10-minute reset before bed.
Meet Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-The-Wall pose) — one of our absolute favorite restorative shapes in Yin Yoga. When you've carried the weight of the day, letting gravity do the work is the gentlest way to return home to your body.
Why your body loves this pose:
Boosts Lymphatic Drainage & Circulation: Inverting your legs helps drain pooled fluids and eases heavy, tired legs.
Calms the Nervous System: Activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest), signaling your body that it is safe to unwind.
Soothes Lower Back Tension: Gently releases pressure accumulated in the lumbar spine throughout the day.
Prepares You for Deep Sleep: Lowering heart rate and regulating breathing creates the ideal bridge into restful sleep.
When & How to do it:
⏰ When: 10–15 minutes right before going to bed, or immediately after a long, exhausting day.
🧘♀️ How: Scoot your hips close to a wall, extend your legs upward, rest your arms by your sides or on your belly, and let your breath slow down naturally.
💫 Save this post for your evening wind-down routine tonight!
