CI SONO BATTERI CAPACI DI DIGERIRE PURE LA PLASTICA?

Leggendo tra le righe dell'email, un nome curioso viene fuori: PSEUDOMONAS PUTIDA.
La signora riferisce che sia stata rilevata tramite tampone alla gola e che il trattamento รจ stato fatto con il solito antibiotico (il nome non importa).
Al controllo successivo, il tampone รจ negativo. E Amen.
Ma il nome รจ rimasto nella mia mente e mi ha spinto a cercarlo in rete.
Al di lร  della somiglianza genetica con il piรน famoso "cugino" - lo aeruginosa - in certi tratti piรน "antibiotico-resistente" (LINK zero)
Anche se perisce grazie al miele di .
Ma ciรฒ che ha attirato la mia attenzione รจ che รจ un batterio in grado di metabolizzare solventi organici.
In pratica รจ ghiotto di polistirolo (in effetti lo stirene) e LO SCIOGLIE.
Ma fa lo stesso anche per il (polietilene tereftalato, cioรจ LE BOTTIGLIE DI PLASTICA).
Benchรฉ gli studi siano ancora agli inizi (link 1) la speranza รจ di poter impiegare questa specie nel riciclaggio del polistirolo.
Di fronte allโ€™enorme problema dei rifiuti plastici indifferenziati dispersi nellโ€™ambiente, lโ€™idea di poterli convertire in materiale biodegradabile tramite lโ€™utilizzo di batteri รจ una grande opportunitร .
