MISSION STATEMENT
Aġenzija Sapport is Malta’s National Agency that offers and provides services, support and guidance to persons with disabilities, their support networks, and their communities. Cause
To assist persons with disabilities to achieve social equitability. Aġenzija Sapport offers a wide range of

services from social work assessments and interventions – including children’s services, community services, supported independent living services, day services, sign language interpretation, assessments and recommendations in assistive technology, driving assessments, workshops, blue badge service, EU disability card as well as a number of schemes. HISTORY
In August 2001, the Supported Living Division was set up within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services of the then Ministry for Social Policy. The aim was to establish principles, values and strategies to provide services to persons with disability and their families. The Division became an Agency in February 2003, under the name of Aġenzija Sapport as it is still known today and on to become an autonomous Agency through Legal Notice 104 in April 2016.

Way to Work Programme participants recently continued their workplace site visits with an insightful visit to the Nestlé offices, where they had the opportunity to explore the different roles and responsibilities involved in working within an office environment.

During the visit, service users were introduced to a variety of office-based roles, including Finance, Human Resources, and Administration. Through an engaging presentation, they learnt more about the different areas of expertise within Nestlé and the skills and responsibilities required for each role.

The visit was followed by a comprehensive tour of the Nestlé offices, giving participants a first-hand look at how different teams work together in a professional workplace. Service users also had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the tasks, skills, and opportunities involved in office careers.

A big thank you to Nestlé Malta for welcoming our service users and providing them with this valuable opportunity to learn, explore, and discover careers in an office environment.

Way to Work Programme is part of the Agency’s SkillUp Unit, which has been shortlisted for this year’s European Social Services Award.

Expression of Interest now open for Occupational Therapist within My Programme.

Aġenzija Sapport is seeking the services of qualified and warranted Occupational Therapists to provide occupational therapy assessments, interventions, home visits, and professional recommendations for service users, while maintaining documentation and collaborating with staff, and other professionals in line with the Agency’s policies and procedures.

Way to Work Programme participants recently continued their workplace site visits with an engaging visit to Welbee’s Supermarket, where they had the opportunity to explore the different roles and responsibilities involved in working within a supermarket environment.

During the visit, service users were introduced to a variety of roles within the supermarket and gained insight into the different tasks involved in the day-to-day running of the premises. They also took part in a tour of the different areas of the supermarket, giving them a better understanding of how the various sections work together.

The visit also included plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice, with participants getting involved in sorting and stacking different supermarket products. These practical activities allowed them to develop workplace skills while experiencing some of the tasks they may encounter in a real employment setting.

A big thank you to Welbee’s Supermarket for welcoming our service users and providing them with this valuable opportunity to learn, explore, and gain practical workplace experience.

Way to Work Programme participants had their third workplace site visits with an engaging visit to Bigbon Group, where they had the opportunity to explore the world of retail.

During the visit, participants were introduced to different outlets, learning more about what each brand represents and the values behind their collections. They also gained insight into what a typical day working in retail looks like, including the different tasks and responsibilities involved.

Participants were also shown practical examples of how collections are displayed in-store to create an appealing shopping environment and attract customers, giving them a better understanding of the skills and attention to detail required within the retail sector.

Thanks go to Bigbon Group for welcoming our service users and providing them with this valuable opportunity to explore the retail industry and gain a better understanding of potential employment pathways.
