Another successful R.E.A.C.T. Advanced Cath Lab CPR training day.

Colleagues from multiple disciplines — including nursing, physiological measurement technicians, radiographers and cardiologists — came together to train in the prevention and management of cardiac arrest in the cath lab.

Through well-rehearsed, slick teamwork, the aim is clear: timely recognition, rapid coordination and the prompt delivery of life-saving measures when every second counts.

Super proud of our cath lab colleagues, whose dedication, preparation and teamwork continue to make a real difference for our patients.

The Maltese Cardiac Society is proud to support the organisation of these important training events, which strengthen multidisciplinary teamwork and help ensure the highest standards of care in critical moments.

❤️ Think Aorta. Think Life.

The Maltese Cardiac Society is proud to be one of the affiliated societies supporting the first ever campaign in Malta, an initiative spearheaded locally by consultant vascular surgeon Prof. Kevin Cassar.

The aorta is the body’s largest artery, carrying blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Yet many people are unaware of the risks associated with aortic disease until it becomes an emergency.

This campaign aims to raise awareness of the signs, symptoms, and importance of early detection. Knowing one’s family history, understanding risk factors, and seeking medical advice when symptoms arise can save lives.

We are delighted to celebrate the success of the 1st Maltese Cardiac Society Hypertension Symposium, which brought together a record attendance of nurses, general practitioners, physiotherapists, pharmacists, hospital doctors and allied health professionals.

This fantastic turnout reflects the growing commitment across disciplines to improving hypertension awareness, prevention, diagnosis and management in Malta. The evening highlighted the true value of multidisciplinary collaboration in tackling one of the most important cardiovascular risk factors affecting our patients.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our excellent speakers for sharing their expertise, insights and practical guidance throughout the evening, and to all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
We are also proud of the success of our social media campaign, which helped raise awareness about hypertension and encouraged wider engagement with this important public health message. Education does not stop within the conference hall — it continues in our communities, clinics and online platforms.

We would also like to sincerely thank our sponsors for their generous support, without which events like this would not be possible.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the sudden and tragic loss of our dear colleague, Victoria.

Victoria was the heart of the pacemaker clinic — a kind, dedicated, and deeply valued member of our team whose presence touched colleagues and patients alike. Her loss leaves us speechless, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with her.

At this very difficult time, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family, friends, and all those who loved her.

May she rest in peace.
