Bernadetta, who was supported through Mulanje Mission Hospital, has now graduated.
We are incredibly proud of your achievement and all the hard work that brought you to this moment.
We pray that God will continue to guide your path and that you will inspire many others through your life and work. Congratulations! 🎓✨
In a world where disability is often viewed through the lens of limitation, Bernadetta from Mulanje has spent years proving otherwise.
After completing her education at Apatsa Primary School and Mulanje Secondary School, Bernadetta January earned admission to the Catholic University of Malawi to study Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work with a minor in Special Needs Education, a programme that was always her first choice.
The journey was not easy. As a woman living with a disability, she faced accessibility challenges and constant doubts from people who underestimated her abilities.
"I used those moments of discouragement as motivation to work harder and prove myself," she said
With support from her family, sponsors, friends, and faith in God, Bernadetta remained focused on her dream.
On Friday, last week, Bernadetta graduated with a Credit and hopes to use her profession to support vulnerable people, especially persons with disabilities.
"Many people living with disabilities have great potential, but they lack support, encouragement, and opportunities. I want to be part of changing that," she said.
Her story is a reminder that disability does not define a person's potential. With determination, faith, and the right support, dreams remain possible.
