Here are a few great options:

🤩This recipe had me at “Frappuccino” … if you like matcha you definitely have to try it!

Most grocery stores carry matcha powder now. It’s a finely ground version of green tea that’s used in beverages and recipes.

🔥TIP: When you’re buying oat milk, check the labels and use an “extra creamy” version for extra richness in this Frappuccino knockoff! If you can’t find it, no worries. It will still taste great with your choice of milk.

MATCHA GREEN TEA FRAPPÉ
(Makes 2 servings)

● 1 cup oat milk (or milk of your choice)
● 1 tbsp matcha green tea powder
● ½ tsp vanilla extract
● 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
● 1½ cups ice cubes
● (optional: coconut whipped cream for topping)

Add the oat milk and matcha powder to a high-speed blender and blend until well-combined.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend until it reaches frappe consistency. Pour into two glasses and top with optional whipped cream. Enjoy!

Your 25-year-old trainer isn't wrong - for a 25-year-old. 🙂

But after 35, your hormonal system runs on completely different rules. And I say this as a naturopath and nutritionist who has worked with women in perimenopause and menopause for over 20 years.

Melatonin can interfere with insulin function in the evening. Late eating may keep cortisol elevated when it should be dropping. And disrupted sleep shifts your hunger hormones in ways that make the next day so much harder.

It's not about willpower. It's about understanding what your body actually needs at this stage.
The women I work with - once we address the timing, the body chemistry, the root cause - start sleeping better, feeling less bloated, and losing weight without white-knuckling through every meal.

1️⃣Eating "healthy" food that is wrong for your body chemistry This is the one nobody talks about. Fat-free yogurt, green tea, almonds — all "healthy." But if they're not compatible with your body chemistry, they create inflammation, water retention, and your body simply won't release fat. I've seen women gain weight eating clean because the food was wrong for their specific biology. This is exactly why generic meal plans stop working. 

2️⃣ Guessing with protein Most women are eating far less protein than they think. Your body needs it to preserve muscle, balance blood sugar, and quiet cravings naturally.

3️⃣A nightly glass of wine 🍷 I'm not here to take away your wine. But alcohol disrupts deep sleep, spikes cortisol, and directly interferes with fat-burning overnight.

 4️⃣ Only doing cardio Cardio alone won't reshape your body after 35. Muscle is your metabolism. Without it, fat loss stalls — no matter how much you move.

5️⃣ The Monday–Thursday perfection cycle Eating "clean" all week then letting go on weekends keeps your metabolism confused and your stress hormones elevated. Consistency beats perfection every time.

6️⃣ Skipping fiber and vegetables Fiber feeds the gut bacteria that regulate estrogen metabolism and reduce bloating. It's not optional after 35.

7️⃣ Running on stress and calling it normal High cortisol tells your body to store fat — especially around the belly. If you've been on adrenaline for years, your body may be in survival mode regardless of what you eat.

8️⃣ Skipping breakfast Your cortisol is already elevated when you wake up. Skipping a meal pushes it higher. A stressed body holds onto fat. Every time.

9️⃣ Sitting most of the day outside your workout One hour at the gym doesn't cancel out 10 hours of sitting. Daily movement keeps your metabolism active between sessions.

🔟 Less than 7 hours of sleep Sleep is where fat loss actually happens. Less than 7 hours raises hunger hormones, increases cravings, and signals your body to hold onto weight as protection.

The truth most women don't hear? 💛

These aren't willpower problems. They're body chemistry problems.
