An Enso made by his own hand and poked dot by dot 🖤✨
The Enso, a Japanese Zen circle, is a symbol of wholeness, presence, imperfection, and the continuous unfolding of life. It is traditionally created in a single, spontaneous brushstroke, allowing the gesture itself to become part of the meaning.
He came to me requesting an Enso, and I wanted to make the experience even more personal.
I prepared Japanese ink and paper for him to create his own Enso with a brush. His movement, his pressure, his gesture became the original artwork.
I then transformed his own brushstroke into the stencil and handpoked it onto his skin.
A mark created by his own hand, carried onto his body as a reminder of presence, wholeness, and his own unique way of moving through life.
I’m open to creating more experiences like this, where the process itself becomes part of the tattoo and the amulet carries something deeply personal from the person receiving it ✨
Un Enso creado por su propia mano y tatuado punto por punto 🖤✨
El Enso, el círculo Zen japonés, es un símbolo de totalidad, presencia, imperfección y del continuo devenir de la vida. Tradicionalmente se crea con un solo trazo espontáneo de pincel, permitiendo que el propio gesto forme parte de su significado.
Él llegó conmigo queriendo un Enso, y quise hacer la experiencia aún más personal.
Preparé tinta y papel japonés para que pudiera crear su propio Enso con un pincel. Su movimiento, su presión y su gesto se convirtieron en la obra original.
Después transformé su propio trazo en el stencil y lo tatué a mano, punto por punto, sobre su piel.
Una marca creada por su propia mano y llevada a su cuerpo como recordatorio de presencia, totalidad y de su manera única de transitar la vida.
Estoy abierta a crear más experiencias como esta, donde el proceso mismo se convierta en parte del tatuaje y el amuleto lleve algo profundamente personal de quien lo recibe. ✨
