Dr. Donato Perez, has been in practice as Medical Doctor since 1983. He is an Expert in Functional Medicine and on NON DIABETIC USE OF INSULIN in the management of chronic diseases & cancer, using the technique called IPT/IPTLD.He has published five papers in peer reviewed medical literature. My practice as a Functional Medicine Expert and General Practitioner includes treating several diseases, like Gastritis,Esophagitis,Fatty Liver, some nutritional and mineral deficiencies, arthritis, bronchitis, pneumonia, infections, prostate enlargement and some malignant tumors (cancer) from organs like uterus, ovary, prostate, colon, breast, lung. For those chronic degenerative diseases listed above I can use different treatment protocols from Functional Medicine, Immunotherapy and Biologic Medicine. For some solid tumors I use Insulin Potentiation Therapy IPT© or IPTLD®, as a targeted metabolic supported protocol including low dose chemotherapy & non chemo. This technique involves fasting and insulin in combination with a variety of drugs with anti-cancer activity. This integrative therapy is very effective against the diseases I'm treating and has a high response rate. Current treatments for many diseases are only to improve symptoms and not to correct the cause or causes. The disease may have one or more symptoms. The disease occurs within the cell, which is the basic unit and from which the organs are made. Cells have one or multiple functions. What cells do is produce chemical substances that interact with other cells so that a cycle of production of chemical substances is generated that maintains the state of health. The cell was first seen in 1665 by Robert Hooke. In September 2021, through the use of radiological, microscopic technology and computer reconstruction, the first image of the contents of a human cell was achieved, where the different components that make it function and live are observed. Each of these components has one or more functions and, depending on the type of cell, produces specific chemical substances. Communication between cells occurs chemically and physically. It is tolerated very well and improves life quality and the prognosis for life expectancy significantly. "Count your successes by the organs you have preserved, never by those you have mutilated" Hippocrates. Choose Donato Perez Garcia, MD., Clinic, where your journey to healing is nurtured with compassion, innovation, and personalized care. Why do patients come to Mexico (Tijuana, Baja California) seeking complementary therapies and a treatment alternative? Because patients want to be treated with functional medicine so their disease can be effectively treated and, like Alexandrina, they can recover and become cancer survivors (for more than 12 years). They come to me because I offer experience, a treatment alternative discovered in 1930 by my grandfather, which is effective in most cases, and, above all, the survival rate is very good. # # Beyond the Hype: Why Clinical Expertise Trumps "Influencer Medicine"

The line between wellness and medical misinformation has never been thinner. Today, we face a paradox: access to more information than ever, yet a staggering rise in **bad decisions based on incomplete data**, often driven by economic interests and shared by voices lacking formal clinical training.

# # # The Illusion of "Natural" Safety
As doctors, we don't have all the answers, but we do have the **training, residency, and experience** required to interpret the complex language of the human body. We rely on therapeutic-grade substances designed to restore balance. In contrast, the "wellness" industry—led by coaches and influencers—promotes a dangerous narrative: *If it’s natural, it’s safe.*

According to **Dr. Eugenia Tsai**, a transplant hepatologist at the Texas Liver Institute, this is a dangerous misconception. Consider these facts:
* **Zero Pre-Market Approval:** In the U.S., over 80,000 dietary supplements are marketed without FDA approval. They are regulated as food, not drugs.
* **Hepatotoxicity:** Popular "detox" aids like green tea extract, turmeric (especially with piperine), and kava are leading to a rise in drug-induced liver injury.
* **Bioavailability vs. Toxicity:** What helps in a kitchen spice rack can become toxic in a concentrated, non-pharmacological grade capsule.

# # # The Gap in Modern Medical Outcomes
We must also be honest about the current landscape. While the foundation of vaccinology is a triumph of science, we are seeing concerning trends in the wake of the COVID-19 era. We are observing metabolic changes and pathologies in **younger populations** that defy historical norms. This underscores the need for rigorous, independent clinical oversight—not rushed protocols driven by corporate bottom lines.

# # # The Alkaline Water Myth: A Lesson in Physiology
The trend of "alkaline water" is a perfect example of marketing vs. biology. While natural spring water (like Monchique or Proud Source) contains beneficial minerals, the "artificial" alkaline water craze ignores basic human anatomy:
1. **Stomach Neutralization:** Your stomach acid (pH ~2) neutralizes alkaline water almost instantly.
2. **Homeostasis:** Your lungs and kidneys strictly regulate blood pH (7.35–7.45). You cannot "alkalize" your body by drinking water; if you could, you would be in a state of medical emergency.

# # # The Bottom Line
The responsibility of prescribing any substance—be it a drug or a supplement—must rest with a **trained health professional**. Supplements are pharmacologically active agents with real risks. When we allow "fame" or "likes" to replace clinical expertise, the patient’s health is the price paid for someone else's profit.

---
**💡 Action Step:** If you found this insightful, share this post to raise awareness. Before starting your next "natural" protocol, ask your doctor about the hepatotoxic risks. Let’s protect our health with evidence, not trends.

Life isn’t meant to be left on autopilot. Like sailing, your health requires skill, the right choices, and a little help from those who’ve weathered the storm. ⚓️"

The Danger of "Magic Cures": A Critical Look at Mebendazole and Ivermectin
In recent years, we have witnessed a concerning surge in the promotion of mebendazole & ivermectin as "miracle drugs" for conditions far beyond their intended use. These medications, originally developed as antiparasitics for humans and animals, are frequently touted by social media influencers, individuals with limited medical backgrounds, and even some licensed physicians who attribute near-magical properties to them. While it is tempting to believe in a simple, low-cost solution for complex diseases like cancer or viral infections, we must separate digital hype from clinical reality.
1. Therapeutic Grade vs. Home Remedies
Our bodies are complex biological systems. When we fall ill, we require substances prepared with "pharmaceutical-grade active ingredients". There is a fundamental difference between a controlled laboratory formulation and a homemade infusion or a "fungus drink."
Precision:Medications must have a specific concentration to be effective without being toxic.
Safety:The dosage must be strictly regulated by a qualified physician who understands the pharmacokinetics of the drug.
2. The Risk of Off-Label and Veterinary Use
We are currently "flooded" with information that purports to guide the sick, but much of it is dangerously inaccurate. One of the most prevalent trends involves using medications designed for pets or livestock.
While substances like mebendazole or ivermectin are being studied for potential secondary effects in oncology, they are not without significant risks. The primary concern is hepatotoxicity. These drugs can cause severe alterations in liver function, leading to long-term damage that may complicate a patient's primary condition. Using a "magic" shortcut today could lead to organ failure tomorrow.
3. Financial Interests and Misinformation: It is vital to remain skeptical of "experts" or commentators who seem more interested in selling a lifestyle, a supplement, or a controversial viewpoint than in patient safety. Their opinions are often profit-driven and do not constitute a solution to your specific health problems.
4. Personalization: You Are Unique
Medicine is not "one size fits all." Your body, your medical history, and your current condition are unique. A treatment that worked for someone in a viral video—or was tested in a petri dish—may be contraindicated for you based on your:
* Genetics and metabolism.
* Existing liver or kidney function.
* Interactions with other medications.
The Bottom Line:** Don’t let the noise of the internet dictate your health. Leave the "magic properties" to fiction and trust in science-based medicine. Your treatment must be prescribed by a professional who understands your specific organism and the rigorous science behind the chemicals you ingest.

Which emerging practices or therapies in alternative medicine are you excited about, and why?
Hope is deeply tied to our emotional and spiritual well-being. When we pause to listen to our heart and soul, hope doesn’t just return—it grows stronger.
Several of my patients, face a situation that’s all too common: an elevated tumor marker. It can feel alarming, but it’s also a reminder to seek clarity, context, and compassionate care. Here’s how I’m approaching it—and what I’ve learned along the way.
What an elevated tumor marker can mean
- A tumor marker is a substance, often a protein, that can be detected in blood or other fluids. Elevated levels don’t automatically mean cancer is progressing; they can be influenced by infections, inflammation, benign conditions, or other factors happening at the same time.
What I’m doing and what you can consider
- Get a clear, personalized explanation from your clinician about what the marker levels mean for you.
- Nurture your whole self alongside medical care:
- Nutrition: Favor a balanced, nutrient-dense diet with anti-inflammatory foods—plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins. If you have liver concerns or other conditions, work with a pro to tailor choices.
- Hydration and mindful eating: Stay hydrated and consider moderating added sugars and processed foods.
- Activity: Gentle, regular movement—walking, yoga, swimming—can lift mood and energy.
- Stress relief: Mindfulness, deep breathing, or creative outlets like art therapy can ease anxiety and support emotional resilience.
- Emotional resilience and psychological support are as vital as any medical treatment. Building a support network and connecting with professionals who can coach coping strategies makes a real difference.
A note from my heart
- Each cancer journey is unique. What helps one person may not help another, and that’s okay. Emotional resilience, honest communication, and a holistic approach are not luxuries—they’re essential tools.
- If you’d like, I’m here to help you navigate questions about marker interpretation, next steps, and ways to support your physical and emotional well-being.

What’s a trend in alternative medicine that could change how patients approach their health?
A trend worth scrutinizing in alternative medicine is the appeal of simple treatments for complex diseases like cancer, often framed around a small set of chemical compounds delivered in straightforward protocols. While some of these compounds may offer metabolic support or symptomatic relief, their ability to meaningfully eradicate active, heterogeneous cancer cells remains unproven and highly uncertain. Cancer metabolism is multifaceted, and tumor biology is equally complex. Each tumor consists of diverse cell populations at varying life-cycle stages, which leads to differential responses to any single therapeutic agent.

The notion that a handful of simple molecules could reliably eliminate cancer cells in 2025 is overly optimistic. Cancer is fundamentally a systemic disease that requires a multifactorial treatment strategy. Relying on only a few agents risks addressing only the symptoms or metabolic vulnerabilities, while the core drivers of tumor growth, invasion, and resistance persist.

It is reasonable to acknowledge that some alternative therapies may offer metabolic support or quality-of-life benefits as adjuncts to conventional care. However, a comprehensive, evidence-informed treatment plan is essential. In a clinical setting, this typically involves an integrated approach that combines proven first-line therapies to target cancer cells, with supportive measures to optimize nutrition, metabolism, and healing, and with careful monitoring for safety and interactions.

Ultimately, while certain complementary strategies may have a role in supportive care, they should not be presented as stand-alone cures or replacements for established, guideline-concordant cancer treatment. A rigorous, multidisciplinary approach—grounded in biology, pharmacology, and patient-centered care—remains vital to addressing the complexities of cancer as a systemic disease.

Donato Perez Garcia, MD

Cancer is a systemic issue, not just a local tumor. That shift in mindset changes everything about treatment.
I’m Dr. Donato Perez Garcia, with 42+ years battling chronic degenerative diseases and certain cancers. Cancer isn’t a lump—it’s a disruption of normal biology that demands a holistic, personalized strategy.
Early treatment often uses systemic therapies to target cancer cells, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system. Surgery or ablation can help, but they’re not always the long-term answer.
Survival depends on cancer type, stage, and age. My IPT/IPTLD therapy offers a systemic, personalized path to durable responses and restored bodily balance.
