Kebanyakan pesakit diabetes di Malaysia hanya uji gula darah waktu pagi sebelum makan. Bacaan puasa nampak okay, jadi rasa everything under control. Tetapi HbA1c tinggi kerana ada lonjakan gula darah tersembunyi 1-2 jam selepas makan β€” yang tak pernah diuji.
