This morning was one of those little moments that reminded me why I love being a community pharmacist.
A customer from Singapore has been visiting Axis Pharmacy for many years whenever she's in Penang.
On her recent trip, she surprised me with a box of Bacha coffee that she had brought all the way from Singapore. It was such a thoughtful gesture.
Today, on my day off, I finally brewed a cup.
As I sat on my balcony enjoying it, I sent her a photo with a simple message:
*"I'm finally having the coffee you bought for me. Thank you."* ☕
Instead of talking about the coffee, she noticed my balcony plants.
Before I knew it, we were chatting about plants, gardening, and life.
And somehow, I realized... that's exactly what community pharmacy is about.
It starts with medicines.
Then comes trust.
And sometimes, over the years, trust quietly grows into friendship.
As pharmacists, we often think our job is to help people stay healthy.
But moments like this remind me that the greatest privilege is being invited into people's lives—not just as a healthcare professional, but as someone they remember, even after they leave the pharmacy.
To everyone who has walked through the doors of Axis Pharmacy over the years, thank you.
You may come in as a customer.
But sometimes, you leave as a friend. ☕🌿
