Usually, the beginning of a relationship is when the sparks fly. However, over time, the intensity dies down and what we have is a 'slow burn' . This is also a crucial time to keep tending to the fire to make sure it does not die out.

Research has shown that successful couples are attentive to each other i.e they constantly make and accept bids to connect.

Bids for connection are small, regular verbal or non-verbal attempts— for example, a comment, look, or touch—to get another person's affection, attention or support.

So, become a relationship master by bidding often. Also, notice when you are receiving a bid for connection so you can turn towards it (acknowledge the bid).
