“What is it REALLY like to intern at an ABA therapy centre?
Chee Hui from UTAR shares her honest experience at Dayna ABA 👀

Most people try to stop the screaming.
But that’s when it often gets worse.

In this session, the child was overwhelmed.
The therapist did something simple:

👉 Counted from 1 to 5

And within seconds,
she started to calm down.

Why it works?
Children don’t calm down because we tell them to.
They calm down when they feel safe and know what to expect.

That’s how we teach regulation.

Yes, we let kids play with food 🍌🍊🥒🍉🥕

Because messy food play helps children:
• explore textures
• build fine motor skills
• develop sensory tolerance
• try new flavours
• grow confidence around food

It looks messy, but this is learning through play.

We made 年糕 (nián gāo)
and practiced life skills along the way.

新年快乐 Happy Lunar New Year🤍

We practice stopping… so they can start learning 🤍

Before worksheets and sitting still, a child first needs the ability to pause and control their body.
That’s regulation.

Welcoming our UTAR interns to Dayna ABA Centre 👋🏻

As a centre with BCBA-supervised programmes, we are committed to structured training and strong professional standards. Through our collaboration with UTAR, students gain guided clinical exposure, not just assisting, but truly understanding the work behind it.

We are excited to have them on board as they learn, observe and grow alongside the team. Welcome!
