🌶️ Love sambal, mala or spicy nasi lemak? But your nose always starts running? 🤧

Don’t worry—it’s usually not a cold!

The spicy ingredient capsaicin stimulates the nerves in your nose, causing it to produce more mucus. That’s why your nose starts running while you enjoy your favourite spicy food.

It’s usually harmless. But if it happens with every meal, even non-spicy ones, it may be worth seeing an ENT specialist.

🌶️ Save this for your next spicy makan!

Swimming is great exercise—but don’t forget about your ears. 🏊👂

Water trapped in the ear doesn’t always come out straight away. If moisture stays inside the ear canal, it can increase the risk of swimmer’s ear (otitis externa), an infection of the outer ear.

The good news? A few simple habits can help:
✔️ Tilt your head to drain trapped water
✔️ Dry the outside of your ear with a clean towel
✔️ Use hairdryer (on low setting) to air-dry your ears

Avoid inserting cotton buds into your ears, as they can push debris deeper and irritate the delicate skin inside the ear canal.

If you develop ear pain, swelling, discharge, or reduced hearing after swimming, it’s best to have your ears examined.

Malaysia’s concert scene has never been busier. 🇲🇾🎶

Whether you’re heading to an arena show, a music festival, or your favourite artist’s concert, don’t forget one thing…

Your ears don’t recover as easily as your voice does.

It’s normal to experience ringing or muffled hearing after a very loud concert—but normal doesn’t mean harmless. These can be early signs that your ears have been exposed to excessive noise.

The good news? You don’t have to skip concerts.

A few simple habits—like wearing high-fidelity earplugs, taking short listening breaks, and avoiding standing directly in front of the speakers—can help protect your hearing for years to come.

Enjoy the music. Protect your hearing. 👂🎵

Ever wake up suddenly gasping for air? 😳
Like you were choking in your sleep… then suddenly wake up breathing hard?

Many people think it’s just a bad dream or anxiety.
But sometimes, it’s your body reacting to a temporary blockage in your airway during sleep.

When this happens, your brain quickly “wakes you up” so you can breathe again —
and that sudden gasp is your body trying to restart normal airflow.

If this comes with loud snoring, daytime tiredness, morning headaches, or pauses in breathing at night…
it could be a sign of sleep apnea.

Don’t ignore it if it keeps happening ⚠️

That deep itch inside your ear can be incredibly annoying 😩

The first instinct is usually to grab a cotton bud and start scratching.

Unfortunately, that often makes things worse.

The skin inside the ear canal is delicate. Removing too much earwax or repeatedly scratching the ear can trigger an itch-scratch cycle that’s difficult to break.

Common causes include:
✔️ Dry skin
✔️ Allergies
✔️ Ear eczema
✔️ Irritation from earbuds

If the itching keeps coming back or is associated with pain, discharge, or hearing changes, it may be time to get it checked.

Do you wake up sneezing non-stop every morning? 🤧
This is a very common ENT allergy symptom, and it’s often not a cold.

Most cases are due to allergic rhinitis (nose allergy) triggered by:
🛏️ Dust mites in pillows and bedsheets
❄️ Air-conditioning and dry air
🐾 Pet dander
🌿 Environmental allergens

While you sleep, these allergens build up around your nose.
When you wake up and start moving, your nasal lining reacts → causing repeated sneezing, runny nose, and irritation.

If this happens most mornings, it may suggest chronic nasal allergy that needs proper management.

Simple steps that may help:
✔️ Wash bedsheets regularly
✔️ Reduce bedroom dust
✔️ Use hypoallergenic pillow covers
✔️ Limit direct air-cond exposure

If symptoms persist, an ENT review may help identify the exact trigger.

Ever had this weird feeling…
like your voice is echoing inside one ear? 👂

Almost like you’re speaking into a microphone —
but only on ONE side.

This happens when sound is being transmitted differently inside your ear.
Sometimes it’s something simple like earwax, fluid, or pressure changes.

But in some cases, your ear becomes too “open”,
so your own voice sounds louder than usual.

It might feel strange… even a little uncomfortable.

If it happens once in a while, it’s usually harmless.
But if it keeps coming back or feels sudden,
don’t ignore it ⚠️

Your ears might be trying to tell you something.

This itchy throat you keep having?
It might not be your throat… 👀

Most people think it’s just a throat problem —
but it’s often coming from your nose.

Dust, pollen, air-cond…
your body reacts → produces more mucus

👉 And that mucus slowly drips down your throat
👉 Irritates it
👉 Makes it feel itchy… and triggers that constant need to cough

That’s why it keeps coming back —
especially at night or in the morning.

If you’re always:
– clearing your throat
– coughing for no reason
– feeling that annoying itch

You’re not alone… and it’s more common than you think.

You’re not sick…
but every morning your throat feels dry, painful, and irritated 😖

This is actually more common than you think.
And no — it’s not just “sleeping with the fan or aircond.”

It could be mouth breathing, snoring, or even silent reflux irritating your throat while you sleep.

Your body is giving you a small signal every morning…
Don’t ignore it if it keeps happening.
