UTAR Hospital extends our deepest condolences on the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.

Our thoughts are with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the family during this difficult time.

Her dedication, service, and remarkable contributions to the nation will always be remembered.

UTAR mourns the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.

One of Malaysia’s pioneering Malay women doctors, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah dedicated her life to advancing public health, maternal and child healthcare, literacy and women’s welfare, making a lasting difference to individuals and communities.

UTAR conferred upon her the Honorary Doctor of Medical Science in August 2015, in recognition of her contributions and leadership in public health, medical sciences and literacy. She was an exemplary Malaysian woman whose professional and personal contributions have made a lasting impact on the lives of many women and children.

Her warmth, humility and quiet strength have left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

UTAR extends its deepest condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the family.

Let’s Talk About Something We Don’t Always Talk About… Haemorrhoids!

Today’s CME session brought an important but often overlooked topic into the spotlight Internal Haemorrhoids.

We were pleased to have Dr. Wilson Liew Wei Xin, Consultant General Surgeon, share his knowledge and clinical experience on haemorrhoids, from common symptoms and risk factors to diagnosis and treatment options.

One of the highlights was learning more about minimally invasive laser haemorrhoid treatment and how it can be used to treat haemorrhoidal tissue while preserving the surrounding anatomy.

A big thank you to Dr. Wilson Liew for the insightful sharing, and to everyone who joined us! 👏
