๐ Day 2 | Advanced Type 1 Diabetes HCP Education Program ๐
Kuching is still buzzing with learning! ๐
What a great turnout for Day 2 of the Advanced Type 1 Diabetes HCP Education Program, organised by Changing Diabetes in Children (CDiC).
Day 2 took us deeper into the evolving landscape of Type 1 Diabetes, beginning with early-stage T1D screening and the very real challenges of delivering high-quality diabetes care in resource-limited settings.
The learning continued through engaging, case-based discussions focused on practical issues that healthcare professionals encounter in their daily practice โ including adjunctive therapies, cardiorenal complications, weight management and hypoglycaemia unawareness.
Importantly, we also addressed the often-overlooked mental health challenges faced by people living with T1D, highlighting the need for holistic care that goes beyond glucose management. ๐ซถ
The programme concluded with discussions on managing T1D in special situations, including Ramadan, alcohol consumption and driving โ topics that require practical knowledge, thoughtful counselling and individualised care.
Throughout the two days, the enthusiasm remained high. The active participation, thoughtful questions and lively discussions reflected a shared commitment among healthcare professionals to continuously improve the quality of care we provide to people living with Type 1 Diabetes.
In the closing remarks, the Chairperson encouraged more healthcare professionals to join the Basic Type 1 Diabetes HCP Education Programme, equipping themselves with the latest knowledge and practical skills in T1D management.
Because better diabetes care begins with better education, stronger teamwork and a shared commitment to keep learning. ๐
A huge thank you to all our wonderful faculty, participants and the CDiC team for making these two days so meaningful and memorable.
Two days. Many conversations. One shared goal โ better care for every person living with Type 1 Diabetes. ๐ฒ๐พ๐
Until we meet againโฆ Ciao! ๐
