Lower back pain is the number one musculoskeletal complaint among working adults in Malaysia.
Most people treat it wrong.
Here's why.
When you feel pain in your lower back, your instinct is to assume the problem is in your lower back. So you stretch your lower back. You put heat on your lower back. You massage your lower back directly.
But in the majority of cases, the pain in your lower back is referred pain β it's coming from somewhere else.
The two most common culprits:
1. HIP FLEXORS
The iliopsoas and re**us femoris β muscles that run from your lower spine through your hips to your thighs β shorten dramatically from prolonged sitting. When they are tight, they tilt your pelvis forward, which compresses the lumbar spine and causes the sensation of lower back pain.
Releasing the hip flexors often relieves lower back pain without ever touching the lower back.
2. GLUTEUS MEDIUS
The side of your glute. When this muscle is weak and tight from sitting, it shifts load onto the lower back. Chronic lower back pain on one side is often this muscle.
Swedish massage addresses hip flexor tension, glute tightness, and lumbar compression in a single full-body session.
This is why clients who have had lower back pain for months come out of their first session with immediate, noticeable relief.
Not because anything is "fixed." Because the actual source of the problem has been addressed for the first time.
