🚨 Don't Rub That Sprain! 🛑
Twisted your ankle or wrist? Your first instinct might be to massage it—but rubbing a fresh sprain can actually increase swelling and delay healing! 😮
Here is why you should keep your hands off for the first 48 hours:
• Triggers more swelling: Massaging brings extra blood flow and fluid buildup to the fresh injury.
• Causes more damage: Rubbing can further tear or irritate already damaged ligaments.
• Increases inflammation: Pressure disrupts your body's natural healing process and amplifies pain.
🩹 Do This Instead: Think P.R.I.C.E.
• Protect the joint from further injury.
• Rest and avoid putting weight on it.
• Ice the area for 15–20 minutes to cut down swelling.
• Compress snugly with an elastic bandage.
• Elevate the injury above your heart.
Skip the massage and give your body the proper time to recover! 💪✨
