Emotional numbness is not a sign that you are broken. It could be a temporary phase. If it prolongs, is time to seek help.

Sometimes, it is the way your mind learned to protect you.

Healing begins when you can slowly rebuild safety, reconnect with yourself, and allow emotions to return—one small step at a time.

When Getting It Wrong Feels Dangerous đź’

Why do some people feel so overwhelming when making mistakes or simply facing failure?

For some, getting something wrong can trigger anxiety, shame, self-criticism or a strong fear of disappointing others.

Sometimes, what looks like perfectionism may have deeper roots — especially when mistakes were once associated with criticism, humiliation, rejection or feeling “not good enough.”

In my recent write-ups, I explore how childhood experiences can shape our adult relationship with mistakes, failure and imperfection, including the differences between perfectionism, atychiphobia and atelophobia.

I also explore how hypnotherapy may support the healing process.

A mistake is an event.
It is not an identity.

🗯️ Atelophobia and perfectionism are not the same.

Perfectionism is a personality trait. A perfectionist may hold themselves to extremely high standards and strive to do things flawlessly.

Atelophobia, however, is an intense fear of flaws or making mistakes. Someone experiencing atelophobia may avoid situations where they believe they could make an error, because the possibility of getting it wrong can feel threatening.

💭 This fear can affect many areas of life — from work and studies to relationships, family life and social situations.

🗨️ Hypnotherapy may help address the underlying emotional patterns and beliefs associated with the fear of making mistakes, while supporting greater self-acceptance, emotional safety and flexibility.

Because sometimes, the real issue isn't the mistake itself.

🗨️ It's what the mistake has come to mean.

Atychiphobia is an intense fear of failure. It may cause you to avoid any activity or scenario that has the potential for an unsuccessful outcome.

Someone with this condition may be scared to try new things, take risks or embrace growth for fear of failure.

This can affect work, studies, relationships and personal growth.

The fear may also contribute to severe procrastination, avoidance and intense emotional distress.

Common Signs đź’¬
Emotional signs:
• Intense dread or anxiety when facing a challenge
• Fear of disappointing others
• Excessive self-criticism
• Feelings of shame or inadequacy

Physical signs:
• Rapid heartbeat
• Shortness of breath
• Sweating
• Shaking
• Dizziness
• Other physical sensations associated with anxiety/panic attacks

Behavioural signs:
• Procrastinating
• Avoiding challenges
• Giving up before starting
• Refusing to try unfamiliar things
• Excessive checking or preparation

Possible Causes and Triggers đź’¬
The fear of failure can develop through different experiences, including:
• Repeated criticism or humiliation for making mistakes
• Childhood environments where mistakes were treated harshly
• Perfectionistic expectations
• Learning from adults who viewed failure as unacceptable
• Experiences where failure was followed by significant emotional consequences
• Other anxiety-related experiences or fears

It is important to remember that not everyone who fears failure has a phobia.

The intensity, persistence and impact on daily life matter.

From Branding to Healing — A Journey I Never Planned ✨✨

Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys in life begin unexpectedly.

My journey into Clinical Hypnotherapy started quite by chance.

Back in 2018, while attending a Marketing Seminar, I came across the subject of hypnotherapy. I became curious and wanted to understand what it was truly about. Perhaps, like many people, I had once carried the misconception that hypnosis was something mystical or mysterious.

But the more I discovered, the more fascinated I became.
The idea of becoming a Hypnotherapist intrigued me deeply.

At that time, I was still fully immersed in my corporate career as a branding professional. I decided to enrol in a part-time Clinical Hypnotherapy programme at LCCH while continuing to build my corporate career.

It was not easy juggling a demanding career, classes, assignments and examinations. But somehow, I persevered.

In January 2021, I received my certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Yet, I continued in my corporate career.

Life eventually brought me to a crossroads.
After many years in the corporate world, I made the decision to leave my corporate career and embark on a completely new chapter.

In 2024, I took the leap and began my journey as a full-time Clinical Hypnotherapist.

The transition from the corporate world into the world of therapy was a significant one.

During the first two years of my practice, I continued to learn, grow and expand my therapeutic skills. I incorporated EMDR into my work and had the privilege of supporting people through different life experiences, including trauma, anxiety, emotional distress and painful chapters of their past.

I also offer Inner Child Healing to work through unresolved childhood wounds and emotional patterns.

Every client and every case has taught me something.
The more I worked with people, the more I understood that healing is deeply personal. There is no single path, and every person carries a unique story.

Along the way, my curiosity about different dimensions of wellbeing also led me to explore other modalities, including Reiki, Colour Therapy and Ecstatic Dance.

Each modality has given me a different perspective on the connection between the mind, emotions, body, energy and self-expression.

And this year, I felt another calling.
A calling to explore Sound Healing.

I felt drawn to grow my practice in a more holistic and spiritual direction. I wanted to explore how sound, vibration and resonance could create a space for deep relaxation, inner stillness and emotional release.

For me, Sound Healing is not about replacing the therapeutic work I have been doing. It is about allowing my practice to evolve and expand, integrating different approaches that may support a person's journey towards greater balance and wellbeing.

From this evolving and transformative journey of corporate marketing to diverse healing arts — I realise that every chapter has brought me closer to where I am today.

Looking back, I sometimes wonder if discovering hypnotherapy in 2018 was really just a coincidence.

Perhaps some journeys begin long before we realise we are on them.

Perhaps the things we encounter "by chance" are sometimes gentle invitations to discover a part of ourselves we never knew existed.

I don't know where this journey will take me next.
But I know I am grateful for every chapter.
And I am excited for the one that is unfolding now. ✨

Values are deeply ingrained beliefs that shape our behaviors, priorities, and goals. When confronted with a tough choice, individuals instinctively weigh their options against these internal principles.

In life, we often face difficult decisions that require us to choose between competing options. What guides us through these challenging moments? More often than not, it's our core values.

đź’Why Values Matter in Decision-Making:
When decisions align with values, they bring a sense of fulfillment and authenticity. Even if the path chosen is harder, the individual is likely to feel more at peace with the outcome, knowing that their actions are consistent with their beliefs. This alignment fosters resilience, as it provides a strong foundation to weather any challenges that arise from the decision.

đź’The Challenges of Value-Driven Choices:
While aligning decisions with values can be empowering, it isn't always easy. There can be immense pressure to conform to external expectations, societal norms, or short-term rewards. However, those who stay true to their values often find that the long-term benefits—such as self-respect, integrity, and a clear conscience—outweigh the temporary discomforts.

Making decisions that align with one's values is a courageous act. It requires introspection, honesty, and sometimes, a willingness to go against the grain. This alignment reflects their true selves, even if the consequences are difficult or require sacrifice.

Yet, by staying true to what we believe in, we not only make decisions that we can live with, but we also lead lives that are more meaningful and authentic.
It is never an easy decision when there are many strong external elements surrounding a matter.

🌕✨ The Story Behind
My Full Moon Bowl ✨🌕

Why is it called a Full Moon Bowl? 🌕
The Full Moon has long been a symbol of wholeness, completion, reflection, release, and renewal.

In the world of sound healing, bowls associated with the Full Moon carry a special symbolism — inviting us to pause, turn inward, release what no longer serves us, and create space for new beginnings.

The name “Full Moon Bowl” is also used by some makers and practitioners for specially crafted or selected singing bowls connected with the energy and symbolism of the Full Moon.

For me, this bowl carries a meaning that is deeply personal 🤍

It was the first bowl I handpicked for The Lighthouse Therapy, marking the beginning of my journey into Sound Healing.

I chose it not only for its sound, but for what it represents.
🌕 A new chapter.
🌕 A deeper calling.
🌕 A journey of healing through sound and vibration.

Every time I play this bowl, I am reminded that healing is not about becoming someone new.
Sometimes, it is about returning to the deepest part of who we already are.

And just like the Full Moon, we too can move through phases — sometimes hidden, sometimes growing, and sometimes shining fully in our own light ✨

May this bowl continue to be a gentle reminder to release, restore, and return to ourselves 🤍

🌕✨ My journey into Sound Healing began with one bowl, one intention, and one beautiful sound.
