Three years ago, Blooming Bee opened with nothing but a table, some flowers, and the hope that people would actually sit down together.

Turns out that’s all it ever needed to be.

No panels. No performance. Just the same thing we’ve always done, hands busy, chairs close, everyone welcome. Kids included. Grandmothers included. You, included.

Look at that deck. Those outfits. The Florida pines in the background. A Saturday that probably went nowhere and felt like everything.

I’ve been sitting with this photo a lot lately. Not out of sadness, but because of what it reminds me of. The way life felt before it got complicated. Before everyone was busy. Before we stopped just… being together.

That’s what I’m chasing for Blooming Bee’s third year.

Not a big event. Not a program. Just a table, food, and people who show up for each other the way we used to without even thinking about it.

we opened the room. people came. strangers sat on the floor together and said the things they’d been carrying.

we talked about amything that we have held back before, what they really are and what they’re trying to tell us.

we talked about the inner child, the parts of us that never stopped waiting to be heard.

nobody performed. nobody fixed anyone. everyone just showed up.
